We stayed at Pension Hayaokidori for a couple of weeks for our ski trip. They are close from the train station, ski slopes that are all unique and big enough.
Rooms are very clean and cozy, the public rooms are set tranquil, the innmaster speaks very good English which helps us a lot and he has been making a wonderful model train layout since last March 2006 he said. Trains run there and you can drive ones when you request.
As people before me said, they serve very lovely meals. We ordered some Japanese foods every night whilist they have some course dinner as we wanted to experience something Japanese. You should try their okonimyaki when you stay there. Very yummy. Breakfast is also nice.
The innmaster has a great knowledge about everything we need. He knows enough about organizing anything e.g. renting gears, transportations, JR pass and local informations. You never have any hard time whilist you stay there.
There aren't so many clubs and bars around, maybe a little boring for those who LOVE them but we are alright as we prefer a quiet place. We'll definately plan another trip with them.
