Loved it, loved it, loved it!
This hotel is nicely set back from the busier streets, and conveniently located near the Uffizi, Santa Croce, the Duomo, and the Arno. Check-in was easy and the owner himself brought us up to our room, exuberantly explaining that he had given us the best one. We agreed, as it was spacious and comfortable, with a large balcony and private stone terrace. Inlaid marble floors, a chandelier, large bed and beautiful antique furniture were typical for all rooms. Quite a gem for the price. Our room was one flight above the lobby, and our entire floor enjoyed a well-appointed common room with an exquisite full-size dining table and plenty of lovely couches and beautiful armchairs for relaxing. The rest of the staff willingly offered great recommendations for restaurants and events, not to mention their warm and professional manner.
The surrounding neighborhood provided everything we needed from our morning cappuccinos, general and specialty shopping (including some very knowledgeable wine sellers), to dinner and fun, relaxed bars.
This is a place we plan to return to, even when our travel budget permits more expensive arrangements-truly a gem!
