Acara House, Dublin

We came after a 13 hour flight and were looking forward to a warm welcome and comfortable sleep. We got neither. The owners were not very helpful and we were kept up late with them shouting at the kids and slamming doors. The breakfast wasn't too good. The bathroom was ridiculously small, with a sink that seemed as though it was made for children only. It is far from the city center - had to walk at least 15 minutes before you got to a bus stop and try to catch a bus. They didn't even try to be customer-service oriented. Go to a hotel in the city center...much better.

The bread at breakfast was mouldy two mornings in a row, the hospitability wasn't great, the electric sockets were hanging off the wall, there was no aerial in the TV, there were no towels or cups but I suppose thats what you get for 35Euros a night.

Acara house is a B&B situated 10 minutes bus ride to the city centre, We had a very good time when we stayed there in August, our room was clean and compact with a kingsize bed and ensuite with loads of hot water, tea/coffee, etc, Breakfast was an assortment of cereals/breads and Irish breakfast, Would stay there again in my next visit.

This cosy B&B is a must place to stay when visiting Dublin. The accommodation was perfect, the hostess was extremely friendly and helpful, We had a private comfortable and restful stay after a very long day of sightseeing and touring. Would definately recommend and come back again. A must place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in Acara House we planned a weekend away to do some shopping and sightseeing, it was very clean and comfortable bed and breakfast close to the city centre within walking distance or short bus ride away and also very convenient for the airport, the hostess was extremely helpful and friendly and the breakfast was great room very clean, we would highly recommend this B&B if you are looking for a quiet weekend away to do a spot of shopping or sightseeing its perfect!!! The B&B was beautiful homely and clean. Location very quiet only 5 minutes bus ride to city center. Wonderful family who runs it, we had arrived very early off a long flight and Liz fed up a delicious breakfast with fresh coffee and did not mind up showering up early and prepared rooms early for us, we where also able to use our laptops, yes the bathroom was a little small compared to american ones, but the shower was a power with lots of hot water, very relaxing. We have very good memories of ACARA HOUSE, and would highly recomend it to anyone looking for a nice afotable place to stay.

Great place to stay when you are in dublin, it was very easy to get from the Airport to Acara House B&B and the bus station is only 5 minutes away to get loads of buses into the city centre it is only a 10 minute bus ride in to dublin city, and there is plenty of pubs and restuarants close by for a meal, the room had its own private ensuite with plenty of hot water and elisabeth was very helpful she cooked a delicious breakfast with fresh coffee each day, We enjoyed our stay in Acara House and would recommend it.

We had a terrible experience with this place. We had just flown for 25 hours so were hoping for a quiet rest. Instead we found it noisy and dishevelled. The owning family shouted and fought the duration we were there - we were kept up until 1am. We were very frightened and did not feel safe. They also tried to move us - with no notice - to another B&B because they'd double booked our room, and to charge us far more than they'd quoted in our confirmation email. We left as soon as we could and slept on our friend's floor instead!

Spent 3 nights here. From the time I stepped in the front door till the time I stepped out, they did everything to make us feel at home. I found they where eager to assist with all our queries and were very friendly. Room was very clean and had tv,dvd player with loads of channels if only we had the time to watch them all also wi-fi was available which was great for us. The Irish breakfast was very good i have visited Ireland twice and this was the best. Overall this is a very nice and good value B&b I would recommend it.
