Hotel Angleterre, Beziers

There is nothing good or to like about this hotel. The staff may be fairly friendly (though mostly invisible) but that does not excuse the lack of hygiene and basic conveniences: no hot water, lights above the bed did not work, no toilet seat, toilet paper not replaced when it ran out, bedding not changed during a 9 night stay, fresh towels on the 7th night, bed made 4 times. I don't know how old the hotel is but the bed frame and mattress looked 50 years old to me and smelled unpleasant. The floor tiles, shower and sink tiles were cracked, chipped and uneven and some were even missing. Finally I caught scabies from the bedding and mattress, as diagnosed by my family doctor. I am appauled by the low standards of this "hotel". The room was booked for me by a friend who lives in Beziers, so I was at least able to spend as much time as I could away from it. Under no circumstances would I recommend this "hotel" to anyone. What an unpleasant experience and one I'm still dealing with - scabies takes weeks to heal.

the night i stayed there was fine. though when i got home my credit card had been charged an aditional $94.00 on a seperate cahrge from the night i stayed there! be safe, pay with cash, or don't stay there.
