Great place. Highly recommended.
By kgram, 2/19/09
If you like to settle into a "home away from home" when you travel, this is it in Quito. Very pleasant place, easy to get to town but in a quiet neighborhood, The price is amazing for what you get. I have stayed in hotels at US $ 100 a night or more that were not as nice. The hostess is a very, very nice lady and so helpful. I've tried to email her to thank her for all she did but can't find her web site for some reason. Will keep trying. We stayed a total of 8 nights and will definitely stay again. Not for non-stop party people and lacks the odd amenity such as Internet (nearby I-net cafes, though) but a wonderful place all in all. Someone complained that their taxi had trouble finding it. We took many cab rides with no problems.

royal treatment at casapaxi
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/08
My 9-week stay at Casapaxi's lovely main house exceeded my expectations, by far. The efforts of the very honest and hardworking part-time houskeeper assured me of a hygenic bathroom and a very clean, neat temporary home; the double-ironed sheets left me feeling like a pampered princess! The owner-innkeeper, Luigina, went "far beyond the call of duty" in accomodating all the guests; I could see that her former career in international diplomacy (and many years in Ecuador) amply qualified her to inform us all on both the dangers and delights that Quito, or any big city, offers. Conscientiously available to all guests - often awaiting late arrivals until the "wee hours" of the morning - she was a wealth of information regarding everything from transportation, to personal safety, to trip-planning. Her scrupulous attention to house-hold security and the welfare of her guests made me feel very safe and cared-for. And all for a shockingly low rate! I could not recommend Casapaxi more highly.

A lovely place!
I lived in the Casapaxi hostal for 8 weeks and I can just say that I`m sharing the point of views of the other commentators. The owner is a really friendly and helpful woman who you can ask for advice at any time (also in English), or you just chat with her. The hostal itself is clean (it is cleaned every day), the rooms are individual and comfortable and the whole atmosphere was very family-like. Watch TV in the living room or cook in the kitchen, alone or with other guests. It´s really a great place to meet other travellers! Highly recommended! Christoph

Wonderful Experience
By kimberly, 11/5/07
I stayed at Casapaxi for 6 weeks this summer and I could not have asked for more. Regina, the owner, helped my friends and with weekend travel outside of Quito and the maid was gread conversation. Wonderful views of the city from the balcony. Spacious, huge TV in the living room, hardwood floors, leather furniture. When I go back to Quito, I will definately be staying here.

Best in Quito!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/07
We were extremely happy with our five-week stay at Casapaxi. We lived in both the casita and the main house. Both were clean, quiet and comfortable. The owner is friendly and very helpful. She repeatedly went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us. The price can't be beat and the location is convenient to downtown Quito.

The best hostel in Quito!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/2/06
My husband and I are very pleased that we chose to stay at Casapaxi. The owner and staff were very warm and friendly, they made us feel right at home. We stayed at one of the suite's which had a private bathroom, kitchen and patio. It is a very clean, safe and relaxing environment. We highly recommend Casapaxi to all who stay in Ecuador. We are looking forward to returning to Casapaxi on our next vacation.

Best hostal in Quito
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/3/06
If you're looking for a little peace and quiet, this place can't be beat. It's in a residential area far from the noise of the Mariscal or the old town, but it's still easy to get to by bus or cab. The owner is very friendly and helpful, the common areas are clean and inviting and the view of Cotopaxi from the patio is great. There are even discounts for students or long term stays.

Nice, clean, safe and quiet hostel. Owned by an Italian lady, who is very kind and helpful. If you are looking for safe and pleasant place to stay in Quito, Casapaxi is excellent value for the price.
