Sakura Hotel, Phnom Penh

Sakura Hotel has a good location, in the centre of Phnom Penh, 20 minutes walk from Sisowath Quay, where night life concentrates. It offers pretty comfortable rooms, with air conditioning, TV, free Wi-fi, hot water and windows in every room. The price per night is good compared to the services offered (around 15 dollars for a single room, breakfast included). Very positive points in the service include cleaning of room and change of towels everyday. The manager and the owner are very kind and ready to help the customer whatever need may he have. Staff is very kind, too. A drawback may be some noise during the night, but it did not prevent me from sleeping well. Sometimes it is possible to see comings and goings of people as it offers Massage service, too, but it remains a safe and pretty quite place to stay.

I stayed in here for three days in early 2007. I was met at the airport with no problem. The front reception staff are good, efficient and fast. Just a little bit "shady" with some of the massage girls sitting around waiting for customers. But very nice people to talk to. Room was big and the place is safe. The motor bike guys outside are an important source of transport to town about 7mins away by bike. So important to get on and work out a good deal for you both. Will be back again this year 2008...looking forward to a massage or 2, or 3...

The hotel itself is great, comfortable, and affordable. It was clean and the staff were all very prompt and helpful. However, beware the massage parlor. The girls don't give a terrible great massage. Its likely the "extras" for which they earn their money.
