He is also a writer and knows everything there is to know about Angkor history.Frederic Rieu, father of little Melissa, was a restauranteur firstly in the Pacific and then at Phnom Penh, before settling in Siem Reap. He is very knowledgeable about Cambodia and is a source of valuable advice and guidance for any planned excursions. Its since their own extensive travels that the two Frederics came up with the concept for the Pavilion Indochine, described by the Lonely Planet as 'a splendid guesthouse' with a 'unique atmosphere'. Situated slightly outside the small town Siem Reap, Pavilion Indochine is the closest guesthouse to the Angkor temples.

Very pleasant stay. Beautifully decorated place
By Alex, 9/23/09
The room is spacious enough, with nice wooden furnitures. Clean sheets and clean mosquito nets. You can really get some relaxation around the swimming pool after a day of exploring the Temples. Raining season this month, so had to spend some time in the hotel and was happy to use their WIFI which works well too. Recommendable hotel, immaculate and wonderful staff. Nearly forgot to mention breakfast is well served.

Absolutely great
By dannys, 7/16/08
Service was impecible. Rooms were clean and classy. Food was delictable. One of the closest hotels to the Angkor park. Next door to a pagoda, so if you're feeling charitable, you can find a way to help the local population. If I go back to Siem reap, I am going back to the pavillion.

Lovely Place Off the Beaten Path
By Jim, 9/20/06
This was a wonderful place to stay with our family. We traveled with our five year old son and I didn't think the staff was going to let us leave with him. We stayed for four nights and they were all great. The rooms were clean, had cold A/C, hot water, and extra bed available upon request. The staff was super friendly and treated us superbly. We highly recommend this home away from home. It is reasonable and off the beat hotel path as well. The continetal breakfast was satisfying and they had a large selection of teas to chose from.
