Abbey On King, Sydney

Maybe it changed hands since being reviewed as "clean" because it isn't. Quite honestly this looks like a good place for people who just like to drink and eat pizza (and there were plenty of them there) but not for anyone else. You need to bring your own pans and utensils to the kitchen, the bedrooms have nothing but a bed in them, the showers are like something out of a borstal, the toilets have stalker-ish messages to women scratched into their doors, and the whole place is wired with security cameras which is a bit creepy. On the other hand the receptionist told us that no one from the hostel is there overnight, which would explain why they don't have a noise curfew. The location is great, but if you feel you have to stay there you should only reserve one day at a time. They claim that they are unable to work their own reservation system...dodgy. We were so creeped out by this hostel that we left days early even though they wouldn't refund us anything.
