Hostal Confluencia, Mendoza

A perfect example of Italian-style Argentine hospitality! This is a bright and clean, family-owned hostal not too far from the main plazas in Mendoza. From the moment you cross the threshold, you're treated like a member of the clan. Even phoning to book, the desklad treats me like the long-lost cousin he'd never met! Rooms are decent sized, airy and modern. You can opt for a single, double with ensuite or separate (private, own key) bathroom. The common room features a shared kitchen, and is a great place to catch up and trade travel stories with new friends, even hang out with the staff. We stayed here in Dec '03 and loved it. Apparently though, the flavour is still the same today...
