Hotel 1898, Barcelona

I stayed here for a week during a business meeting and loved the hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were a nice size and very clean. It has a great location right off the main strip, Ramblas. The breakfast buffet was also great. There was a great spread of fresh fruit, breads, meats, and you could order eggs/omelets. It really had something for everybody. There is also a Starbucks and delicious Chinese restaurant right next door and a grocery store around the corner. Before I checked out, I also got a chance to use the sauna and steam room in the spa in the basement. They also offer free wifi and it was the best internet connection I've ever had at a hotel. My podcasts have never downloaded so quickly at a hotel before. I changed hotels after my work meeting to stay at someplace a little cheaper for a personal vacation and I wish I would've stayed at Hotel 1898. I would definitely stay there again.

I absolutely LOVED H1898. From the minute we checked in we were absolutely impressed with the hotel. Our room was a nice size for 2 people. We had a balcony in our room that was just the coolest ever. We could look down the narrow streets of Barcelona and below us were restaurants. When we were in our room at night, we'd leave the door open just to hear the hustle and bustle from the restaurants. When it was time for bed we closed the doors and it was soundproof. The rooftop bar is by far the most relaxing place. They have beds! My friend and I sat and had a few drinks and there was a guy snoring. That's how comfortable it was. We didn't eat at the hotel because we wanted to wander around La Rambla and enjoy some of the restaurants. All in all, I would DEFINITELY stay at H1898 again. Oh and you get the cutest little slippers. Great for 8 hr flight back to New York!

It was clean, cool , service was excellent. It was central. The staff were exceptional and the facilities were in a claas of their own. Just go as see for yourself

excellent hotel, great location right on the ramblas..decor beautiful, smell of leather, ambience terrific..stayed in a standard room which was spacious enough for two with a large bed, and great housekeeping services... bathroom beautifully decorated, again spacious, with large towels that are changed daily..amenities plenty, had clothes pressed and returned within 20 mins...lighting system gives you choices...staff are very knowledgable about the city...breakfast was outstanding,buffet style and plenty of it..rooftop pool is worth the price itself..1st flr spa/pool/sauna..free internet access..this hotel is must stay should you go to barcelona..this hotel would easily cost 400+ USD in NewYork per night..

Stayed 2 nights at Hotel 1898 and can honestly say best hotel I have stayed in. Should be rated 5 star. Staff friendly and helpful. Our room was on 3rd floor overlooking La Ramblas. Room had lovely decor,wooden floor, massive bed, flat screen tv on wall, 5 adjustable light settings, large safe in cupboard. Pillow menu with different types of pillow for you to choose. Bed turndown service in evening, along with mats put on floor at each side of bed and towels which were changed in morning also changed in evening. Bathrobes supplied which were useful for going up to rooftop pool and down to spa pool. Breakfast very good and had meal at night in restaurant which was fantastic. Rooftop pool outstanding with views over Barcelona. Spa pool also great.

Unique decor and cleanliness. Pleasant staff who were more than happy to help. Beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean room and bathroom. A sheer delight to stay in.
