Bad, Poor, Don't even think of it.
By Pascal, 8/14/10
I decided with my fiends to stay in Grand Rotana Sharm Elsheikh. Unfortunately, this was the worst decision ever. First, The Reception: We arrived at 10 pm there was only one staff trying to accommodate a que of 6 guests in front of us, so by the time all those guests were checked in we were actually in our room by 12 midnight. After three nights there, our ceiling in the Club Rotana Suite started leaking water, we complained it and asked to move to another suite. The guy at the reception said he has talked to the management and he managed to get us a good discounted rate on the biggest suite at the hotel and we believed him because he authorized only the agreed rate from the credit card. However, this all was an act to fraud, At check out, we found that they have charged us additional 400 dollars per night and the man at the reception declined that he promised us anything, straigh face to face lie. The duty manager came and apologized and said it was missunderstanding and a mistake by the reception and they will take action, however, he requested that we still pay the additional 400 dollars per night, we kept arguing until there was only 30 minutes left to our flight, so we just paid it to be able to catch our plane and get out of that misery full of People who lie for money. Food and Main Resturant: Absolutley disgusting. Service: If you are not a female forget service. Rooms Quality: 2 stars hotel. Not worth your money Never Never stay at this hotel its a fraud and you will be disappointed with the service and attitude. and its no way near a five star hotel at all. there are better choices in the area.do not be fooled by this place go to four seasons or other known names .

a beautiful luxury beach , spa Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/07
Excellence every where. I've spent a memorable vacation there & can't wait to go back.My partner and I stayed at the Grand Rotana at the beginning of November this year.We arrived at the hotel after a very short taxi ride and were very impressed with the exterior of the hotel which was very grand. Once inside the hotel, staff were extremely helpful and attentive, taking us to our room in a golf buggy. The room we booked was a premier beach front room and it was lovely with a large bed, big bathroom and glass double doors onto a terrace. There was a beautiful veiw of the sea and Tiran Island in the distance. In the evening we could sit outside on the terrace and listen to the opera that was played in the Roman ampitheatre, which is part of the complex. The cuisine is excellent. Silk Road is definitely the best and it was really nice to sit outside whilst dining and have such wonderful veiws over the Red Sea. The Italian was the only restaurant we weren't keen on. The Sky Bar serves delicious cocktails for about £5.50 and most nights have entertainment. We particluarly liked the man who played the guitar and sang. We can't remember his name but he was very good. The views are lovely up there and there is a welcome sea breeze. The staff have to be mentioned as they were just wonderful. They were so attentive and really went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The hotel does have a lot of Russian tourists and although I don't wish to make a general statement apply to a group of people, most of those we met were quite rude and especially rude to the staff. There are a couple of Russian staff who tended to ignore the English but most of the staff are Egyptian staff and are really friendly. The pool is massive and my partner and I both enjoyed the slide - it seemed a shame to waste the opportunity to use it as there were very few children around. There is also a jacuzzi infinity pool. The snorkelling as the house reef is just great. My partner and I both had massages in the Spa. They were well priced in comparison to English prices and very good. I would highly recommend this hotel any of my friends
