Great Pool On The Ocean
Went to Myrtle Beach and stayed at the Marriott and the Anderson Ocean Club. Two totally difference experiences.
What we liked about the Marriott.
Beautiful Pool, with excellent bar and resturant service durning the day. Music plays all day, that is very nice. The Beds were awesome, that is if you love soft beds. Wondeful bedding. The rooms were extremely small and no balconies, that was a negative for us. Old TV's,no place to store things in the bathrooms, blow dryers are whimpy. (Bring your own!) Room service does not show up till almost dinner time. Not great for those who like to shower and dine early.
Went to Breakfast at 8:15 am, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. It was ok..not great. Very Overpriced. $35 for two for breakfast. Take a quick jaunt down the road to Stacks Pancake House and get a great breakfast for less than half the price!
Gift shop attendants hate their jobs or at least it seemed that way.
Would I go back. Maybe. I think I would rather investigate buying a timeshare or renting one of the units at the Villa's with full kitchens so you do not have to rely on the overpriced offerings of the Marriott Hotel. We liked staying at the Anderson Ocean Club better. Not a huge pool like the Marrioot, but it's right on the beach and the rooms are two times the size, with full kichens, flat screen tv's and internet service was FREE, no charge for parking, Magnolia's resturant had a nice breakfast and they offer spa services.
Don't get me wrong the Marriott was nice.We didn't need all the offerings of a huge resort with massive hallways and all the hype. The Boutique Hotel offerings of the new Anderson Ocean Club is a very good choice as well.
