IT'S THAT BAD!! WHAT CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!

I made this reservation over the phone from our car while we were in the area...all other places were booked. When I arrived, front desk area was dirty. When I was handed the room keys, they were presented to me in a very dirty, used key card envelope....YUCK!!!!!!! The best was yet to come! When we opened the room door, and tried to turn the light on, instead of a regular light switch, we found a toggle switch .... which did not work. It was still daylight, so we left door open and after searching, found that the lights had to be turned on via a surge protector strip that was on a stand. It would have been better off if we couldn't have seen what the room was like! It was dirty, smelly, and just plain gross. My one son needed to use restroom, and had to forcefully push door open (it was sticking from all the filth I assume). The toilet had a huge wad of toilet paper still in it, and when I tried to flush the toilet, it did not work. I also noticed that the bathroom had no soap or shampoo. We immediately went back to front desk and told them that, under no terms, were we going to stay in their hotel. (The kids were crying to go home!) The front desk couldn't get in touch with manager, but told me that the room was just drafted to my credit card, not actually charged. She said that the manager would take care of that the next day. We left .... I would rather have slept on the pavement outside those rooms! The next day however, they said that even though we hadn't stayed, we would be charged for the stay .... almost $150! When I called to make that reservation, we were less than a minute from the Inn, and by the time we left, the entire episode had lasted around 10-15 minutes.... from start to finish. Thankfully, I have my credit card company on my side .... this Inn is very underhanded and unscrupulous.
I have since called the Better Business Bureau, the Fire Enforcement Dept. for code violations, the Erie Chamber of Commerce, and the PA Dept of Health. This establishment is as toxic as the mold growing in their rooms. For whatever reason, even though they have been REPEATEDLY INVESTIGATED AND FINED, they somehow have managed to remain in business.
PLEASE PEOPLE .... PLEASE pay attention to these reviews! The lesson I have taken from this: READ REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING, and if you aren't able to do that, ask to see a room before making reservations. If they won't happily oblige by letting you see a room first, then it is probably an establishment that you need to pass by! Also, if you have a legitimately bad experience at a hotel, scream it from the rooftops! Call the authorities and make these hotels owe up to cleaning up their act.
This is certainly, without a doubt, one place to avoid. Read all the reviews before me and please, take heed!
