Comfort Inn and Suites Fort Madison, Fort Madison

My family came to Fort Madison just for a short weekend trip. (The town has got some points of interest and a nice way to spend a couple of days). The hotel was great: - The room was big even for a suite and it had all the amenities we needed. Mattress on the sofa sleeper was lumpy, but that's expected. - With three boys, a pool was key. A bonus was that the rec area had a 'kiddie' pool that was about a foot deep and removed from the regular pool. This provided a safer environment for the younger ones - and I haven't found a big chain hotel that had this before or after. (the only bad part was the material used around the pools was a little rough on bare feet) - The hotel was clean, good breakfast and having a restaurant attached was a plus. - Staff was great and accommodating. - Side note: I was pregnant at the time and we met a little boy from Burlington named Zachary at the pool area: a great, polite kid. A few months later, we delivered another boy and named him Zachary largely after this child. A reminder of a great stay and a completely wonderful experience.

I made reservations two months prior to my stay. I received a confirmation number which I presented when I arrived. My room was NOT available. Do not trust confirmed reservations at this hotel. Call many times prior to your arrival to make sure the room you request is still reserved in your name.

I'm in a different hotel everyweek.This hotel is one of the cleanest I been in a year. The room was quit after everyone else settled in to there rooms. Supper was a walk away across parking lot. I never did hear the highway because of the way the hotel sits. If I'm back in Ft. Madison I will stay here agian!
