Pala Casino Spa and Resort, Pala

Checked in at 1 pm and were told it would be about a 1 1/2 hour wait for a room to be cleaned. After 4 calls to the front desk we finally got into a room 4 hours later at 5pm. Then upon check out we were charged $80 more than what it should have been and once we got home our credit card was charged another $120 more than that. The room was nice but extremely noisy. We ate at three different places inside the casino and all three meals were terrible. All meals came out cold, hash browns were a frozen mess and the fries we had for lunch seemed like they were cooked the day before. Cold and chewy. With the kind of service we received over a two day stay this casino will never last. Hopefully, this was just a one time event but sad to say it happened on our visit becasue we will never come back nor will we ever recomend this place to anyone we know. Not worth the money.

Allthough the room was beautiful, it was very over priced. We asked three seperate employees specifically about the pool avaliability because we had a 20 yr old and an 18 yr old with us who couldn't gamble so they were looking forward to going to the pool. We were told it would be open. However, there was NEVER any mention of the winter hours which apparently are 9-5. Check in isn't until 3pm. We arrived at approximately 4pm. By the time we got into the room and the luggage was brought up it was 5pm. When the kids tried to go to the pool for awhile the following morning before the 11 am check out, they were stopped at the elevator and told they couldn't go to the pool without someone over 21 and that the pool was closed anyway due to weather. This accompanied by the 1 1/2 hr wait in line at the buffet for an expensive yet mediocor dinner as well as the extremely tight machines all added up to an extremely disappointing stay. It was actually topped off by the manager whom I tried to speak with about our bad experience. It is clear that the Pala Casino doesn't require more than a third grade education for their management because she just didn't get it!.

WENT FOR MY BIRTHDAY. REQUESTED EARLY CHECK IN. ARRIVED AT 12 IN THE AFTERNOON ON A SATURDAY, AND OUR BEAUTIFUL ROOM WAS READY! ROOM WAS GORGEOUS, AND THE BATHROOM EVEN BETTER. WHIRLPOOL TUB AND A OVERSIZED WALK IN SHOWER. THE MOUNTAIN SIDE VIEW WITH A BEAUTIFUL FLOWING RIVER WAS BREATH TAKING. ORDERED ROOM SERVICE, AND WAS VERY PROMPT. GOOD FOOD. ROOM HAS EVERY AMENITY, INCLUDING A STOCKED MINI BAR {WHICH IS A LITTLE PRICY, BUT CONVENIENT} ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE CASINO GETS REALLY CROWDED AND HARD TO GET A MACHINE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. GREAT TIME!

Kids gave us Pala for our 50th anniversary. The room was wonderful and the bath even better. Roses on the bed, lovely gift from the hotel. Dinner at fabulous. Would go there again, in a flash.
