Travelodge Redding, Redding

We stayed one night on our way to Washington. EVERYTHING was wonderful! And, might I add, much nicer than I found the weekend before at a Hilton in the Phoenix area. If you need a place to stay in Redding, this it it. Look no further. A great bang for your buck!

A couple of weeks ago I was traveling back to Washington State from Southern California and needed a place to stay. Since I was going to be out of driving hours , I had a reservation made in Redding at this Travelodge. Not counting on incessant road construction in Central California, it was not until well after midnight that I finally arrived. Each time I called the front desk to inform the lady of my trip progress, I felt bad that the time kept changing, so I kept apologizing for things changing so much. This young woman could not have been nicer (Amanda I believe was her name). She assured me that the room was ready, that she knew I was coming in late, and that there would be no problem. From check-in at 1am until checkout at 10 that same morning, I couldn't have asked for a better choice of lodging. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the coffee hit the spot, and I felt very secure. This property is a mile or two off the Interstate freeway, but the reward of a clean, safe, quiet, comfortable room was definitely worth it all. Would I choose this place again? ABSOLUTELY!!! In fact, I will hopefully be using them again in about a week. Whether you travel as a family or solo, you won't be sorry for using this Travelodge

I had to drive from Bend, Oregon to San Francisco, CA over labor day. I decided to cut up the trip by staying half way. So based on the trip advisor reviews I made a reservation at Redding Travelodge. Unfortunately when I arrived at this Travelodge I was informed that my reservation was made for a different day. The hotel charged my credit card for the $64 for the night I did not show up for the reservation. They informed me that they had tried to call me several times of the day of the reservation before they charged my card. This as everyone knows is a huge lie. The telephone number that I gave them was my cell phone and the day the reservation was made I was at my desk all day. THEY DID NOT CALL ME. I understand that I made the reservation for the wrong day. The hotel was not sold out that day nor was the hotel sold out the day I arrived. The clerk was very rude to me so I decided just to drive to San Francisco without staying at the hotel. They wanted to charge me the rack rate for the night I arrive which was just a little to much for me to handle after six hours in the car. It would have cost the hotel no more money for me to stay there the night I arrived. The reason I am writing this review is to tell everyone that I expect this to happen at a one star Motel 6. However, the reason I reserved this hotel is that the give great customer service. I tried to contact the hotel during the week to talk to the hotel manager but he or she would not talk to me. The hotel itself is situated away from I-5 and one needs GPS to find it. The hotel looked like any other Travelodge anywhere in America. There are many other choices in Redding so if I where anyone I would stay elsewhere. BTW I don't care about the money, I just care that if a hotel has a high rating they have to go out of their way to be a little better than the competition.

I read all the positive reviews on Tripadvisor and thought I'd give this place a shot. Was I glad I did! The place I normally would stay in Redding was about $40.00 more a night and the rooms were almost the same. The thing that really made the difference for me was the girls at the front desk they were so helpful and even recommended one of the best places to eat we had on our trip. The place was layed out well. Very secure feeling and my wife thought it was the cleanest place we've ever stayed in. The pool was heated and it was just right. We enjoyed the spa and they had a few pieces of workout equipment (the wife used-ha) plus a good sized TV we watched while inn the tub. The breakfast offering at the place next door was very good. We will come back for sure.

Great value. The room was very, very clean and it had everything. We liked the fact that one price payed for everything. We had no extra charges when we left.

My husband and I were very happy with the way our kids were treated, They acually seemed happy to see us! You know when you walk into some Hotels and they seem irratated you even walked in! This is NOT that hotel thank goodness! The only thingI would change is the bedding comforters they are a bit outdated and that would make all the difference! Oh I also forgot to mention everyone got an almost free brunch from Dennys we paid $7.00 for 7 people! It's a great deal. -The Fischer Family

This place is a real class act. The room was very clean and well appointed. The staff was friendly and helpful, often going beyond what was necessary to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Great voucher for free full breakfast at the nearby Miner's Cafe, too! For an reasonably priced and happy stay in Redding, this is the place!

Found this motel to be excellent value. It's spotlessly clean and quiet, which are the main things we look for when travelling. The staff were very helpful. Telling us where to find a place to eat when we arrived quite late and also quickly replaced our non functioning coffee machine. We used it as a base to explore round the Shasta region and Lassen Volcanic Park. The breakfasts at the diner next door where the best we had out of the places we stayed when touring north California. Would thoroughly recommend this place!
