We will be back !!!!
By The Shadow, 08/17/09
This B&B is top notch we stayed 3 nights a few years ago and you could not find a better place I promise you. from the great log cabin exterior to Carols simply outstanding breakfasts including homemade jams and jellys to the sourdough pancakes and waffles it honestly dosn't get any better than this her husband even took us to pick up our rental car. Carol and her husband gave us directions on how to get anywhere we wanted to go, even a day trip to Denalli. They told us the best way to get anywhere we wanted to go and not being from there sure did help tremendously .For myself my 2 sons 12 and 13 at the time and there 2 Uncles I would like to thank Carol and her Husband for being so gracious. You truely have a beautiful Home . I plan on going back sometime in 2011 I pray your B&B is still there . Thank you for making our trip a memerable one we will remember for the rest of our lives. P.S. We still have our Bear coffee mugs Wayne Cauley and family from Wisconsin

Not Handicapped Accessible But Nice Place to Stay
By George A, 05/26/08
Overall, Carol went out of her way to make our stay very comfortable. She even shipped back one of our cell phones which accidentally ended up under one of the beds (thank you Carol). We enjoyed the beds in the Denali Room which we stayed for three nights (7/15/05 through 7/17/05). The food was great in the morning and the stories she spoke about. The major reason we did not mark this Bed and Breakfast as "excellent" is the fact that this B&B is definitely not for those who are handicapped and we were led to believe it was accessible. I booked the reservation 10 months in advance and called her on the phone within a week or two after booking and told her that my mother-in-law required using a walker to get around and asked her how difficult that would be to access her house. Carol told us if she could step up the three small steps leading up to the front door, there's no other problem she would have to worry about in the house. Well, those three steps were more than small and the access to the bathroom from the bedrooms was extremely difficult (walker was too wide to access the bathroom). Also, the request she asked for us to take outdoor shoes off before entering was certainly a problem for my mother-in-law (not for the rest of us as we all complied). Just would have preferred she be upfront and indicate her B&B is not handicapped accessible. I would have looked to other arrangements. Another minor item which bothered us was the fact we had told Carol that my mother-in-law drank nothing but decaffinated coffee (she asked us the first day what kind of coffee we liked) but she forgot to make any decaf for her. Hard to keep a mother-in-law happy when she doesn't get the right type of coffee (lol). All in all, we liked our stay there and would recommend it for anyone who does not have anyone in their group who is handicapped. If it would have been just my wife and I, not a problem. Nice B&B, easy to get to, and certainly reasonable for the price compared to the hotels in the area.

Awesome!! A great find!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/06
My wife and I weren't expecting much for the price, but we we're totally bowled over. The room was very spacious and the private bathrooms are one of the most inventive uses of space that we've ever seen. The garden was gorgeous, and the common area was full of authentic Alaska stuff, with plenty of books and complementary beverages. My wife and I had an early morning flight and we thought that we were going to miss breakfast. The innkeeper (wish I could remember her name right now) woke up at 4 am to cook us breakfast to go. Oh yeah, the breakfast was amazing! If you're in Anchorage, this is the place to stay. We'll definitely be back. P.S. Check out the bears on the wall and ask for the story behind them. Pretty cool.
