Brigitte's Bavarian Bed & Breakfast, Homer

We have been to Brigitte's Bavarian twice in the past 10 years. Both times we were blown away by the beauty of what Brigitte and Willy have created--from the rooms to the woodcarvings in the sauna--everything was done by hand with an eye for creative detail. Just walking the grounds will inspire you. The garden features giant produce and gorgeous flowers. Our five year old picked berries every day. The hosts are wonderful--intelligent, funny, nice to talk to and not overly intrusive. This place is no ordinary B and B--it is, in fact, a little bit of paradise in Alaska.

Brigitte's BB & B was absolutely the finest place we have ever stayed. The room was wonderful, the grounds & flowers beautiful, the food delicious. If that was'nt enough, Wille & Brigitte were gracious & friendly hosts. We spent 2 weeks traveling from Anchorage, to Denali, to Wrangell-St.Elias, to Valdez, & down to Homer. great hosts were brigette & willie. excellent breakfast, well appointed rooms, beautiful flowers and grounds, nice view of the sound and mountains and glacier on other side. the two hillside rooms really have the feel of being in a tree house. keep up the good work guys. truly was a unique b & b experience.

What is there not to like about Willy and Brigitte's B&B. Our three day stay was the perfect end to a perfect two week trip to Alaska. Willy and Brigitte make you feel right at home. Their breakfasts were outstanding including a special breakfast that Willy fixed us as we went out on an early morning Halibut fishing trip. Everything about our stay was enjoyable, wish we had more time to spend talking to the two of them. Brigitte's gardens and Willy's special sauna our something to see and enjoy. Willy makes many uses of his sauna including baking homemade bread which you enjoy for breakfast the next morning. Check out his swinging bridge over to the chicken and turkey coop. No doubt about it, if your headed to Homer make sure you visit and stay with Willy and Brigitte. We will return!!!!!

I have stayed in B & B's in several states and countries and BBBB is the best. The owners, food, rooms, view and property are 2nd to none. Everytime I go to Alaska [4 trips]. It is a beautiful and fun place to stay. Truly unforgetable.

Brigitte's Bavarian Bed & Breakfast is a beautiful work of art. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. We had a very nice view of the mountains and bay across the gardens and through the trees. The unit we stayed in featured a wraparound porch with driftwood railing and plenty of other reminders that you're visiting a fishing community. With a sturdy bench and beautiful hand-made wooden shoe rack just outside the door, Willie and Brigitte have made their "no shoes, please" policy easy to get along with. The rooms are very clean and dust free. To my delight, there was no TV in the room. Just a clock radio that gets two stations and a nice shelf of books covering topics ranging from native lore to birds and plants of Alaska and more. You really get a feel for the artful craftsmanship Brigitte and Willie both apply to the grounds and buildings. There's nothing "pre-fab" about this place. It's all lovingly hand crafted with great attention to detail. The buildings blend in so well with their surroundings they almost look as if they grew here. Breakfast at 8 a.m. was a real treat. From a simple seafood souffle to herbed fried potatoes, each breakfast was served with two varieties of hearty homemade sourdough bread and local wild berry jams and jellies. Brigitte's rhubarb compote is fantastic as are her delightful fruit salads with red currants and other local fruits and berries. The coffee is very good and there's always plenty of orange juice. It is very obvious that Brigitte and Willie are experienced innkeepers and love what they do. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Brigitte's Bavarian Bed & Breakfast to travelers of all ages.
