We Will Return ASAP
By RKJJ, 4/23/12
The website does not begin to show how exceptional this place is. Once there, you will see first-hand how ingeniously this place was designed - - every angle, window, sight-line was anticipated before the guest houses were built. Real china, glassware, pottery, etc, in the kitchen - - wonderful linens - - outstanding fixtures all around - - yet, still quiet and rustic in nature, as if you were part of the peaceful and beautiful landscape. The location is perfect, with just a short drive into LaConner for fine dining and premier shopping. The natural beauty of the entire valley and mountains beyond is reason alone to go. Such a FIND, and our best retreat spot ever.

A Slice of Heaven
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/11
Sorry I didn't take time to write in the guest book as I was in such a relaxed state I let all my compulsive behaviors set with the magnificent sunsets. The accommodations are the most completely thought out I have ever seen down to the butter, condiments, cork screw, toaster, colander and best of all the paper cups with lids for coffee to bring down to the landing so no worry about breaking a coffee cup! The shower with surround water was a treat. The hot tub was the perfect ending to a day of exploring. We also want to thank you for the free passes to the Art Museum...that was such a treat! Spent quite a bit of time looking as Balazs has always been an inspiration to my jewelry design...I have his book. I wonder if he ever has book signings...wow, that would be an incredible event for me. It was a great exhibition and the woman who was there was very helpful with all sorts of tidbits about both the museum and the artists. A lovely getaway for my husband and myself. We will spread the word and return ourselves next summer.

It's a place to renew your spirit!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/09
I AM RE-DOING MY PREVIOUS REVIEW BECAUSE I INCORRECTLY FILLED IN THE SERVICE, CLEANLINESS, LOCATION AND VALUE. THIS PLACE DESERVES AN ACCURATE REVIEW. Skagit Bay Hideaway is always such an incredible experience for me. I go there to renew my spirit. What you will notice is the attention to every detail....and the quiet. The walk in shower is 'to die for' with mulitple heads. There's art on the walls from local artists, which I so appreciate. When you go upstairs to the bedroom and sink into the bed...you'll sleep through the night and wonder where you can buy the sheets! There isn't a hot tub on the deck anymore. Now, they have an intimate building right outside the units with a hot tub and fireplace. It's even more romantic than before with the most delightful building... and you can look right out at the water. I can't wait for my next visit.....next time, I'll bring my husband!

Awesome place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/08
My wife and I stayed here last week during our vacation to Seattle. We had a very relaxing time at a beautiful B&B. The breakfast was delicious, the double shower was awesome, and even though we used the hot tub while it was raining, it was still very relaxing. The place has a beautiful view from both the living room area and the hot tub and it perfect for those wanting to get away from the madness of the city. La Conner is a nice little tourist town with a lot to do even in the dead time of winter. We had dinner at the local brewery and did a little shopping. Most of all, we relaxed in the hideaway, not thinking about anything but each other. No TV, no phone, just peace and nature.

"Stunningly Beautiful, Unique Setting for a Romantic Getaway"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/07
This is much more than your typical Bed and Breakfast! It is actually an intimate suite for two with exquisite design touches and attention to detail throughout. Whether you are enjoying the view of the beautiful Skagit Bay by the cozy fire sipping a glass of wine, or upstairs relaxing in the rooftop hot tub among the trees outside your bedroom door, this slice of paradise will help you restore peace to your soul. I first came here right after they built this amazing get-away and have returned for years since. There is no other place like it and it will spoil you forever! There is a private entrance, a delicious breakfast you can share at your leisure the next morning, and a shower for two that you will never forget. Although very close to town for wonderful dining and shopping, you will feel like you are truly away from it all. It is the perfect place to unplug and reconnect with someone you care about whether it is for a special occasion or just a much needed break. The owners have put so much of themselves into this property and it shows! For dining, I highly recommend the dining rooms at both Kerstin's and the Nell Thorn restaurants, reservations are recommended. Both will provide a great dining experience highlighting the bounty of the Skagit Valley. Year-round this is the ultimate escape! You can visit their website for more information and to reserve your stay as there are only two suites.

wonderful honeymoon retreat!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/11/07
We had a wonderful week in Washington during our honeymoon. We found the hideaway online and the website sold us. We made the trip from North Carolina to enjoy an entire week there in early July... The cabin was cozy and relaxing. The rooftop hot tub was a treat that added to the romance during our time there. The cabin gave a nice view of the bay while being tucked away in the woods at the same time. Our hosts were as friendly as we could have hoped for, and then some! Earlene and Kevin were fun to chat with, and their passion for the area around Skagit Bay was contagious. When my wife and I asked what we could do for day trips, our hosts were ready. We were provided maps and suggested itineraries that led us to some of the most spectacular spots in northwest Washington, including the San Juan islands, the North Cascades, and Mount Baker (to name only a few). Breakfast awaited us each morning (fresh fruit, quiche, french toast) and was delicious. The hosts know how to prepare and present a meal! If we had it to do over again, we would choose the same place. We will go back to visit one day.

Money not well spent
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/1/06
The skagit bay has an excellent website. We were dissapointed to pay the price for the ammenities. The worst night sleep of our lives on an old squeaky bed. We went away hoping for some R&R and came back more tired than when we left.
