Beautiful, Peaceful LOVED IT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/07
Ashingdon Manor has new owners in the last 4-5 mths (Jan/Feb 07 I believe). The new owners are taking the place very seriously and are making it shine! Bay and Daniel are a delight and wonderful to stay with and the facilities would certainly be family friendly I suspect. The entire layout at the manor is spectacular for a B&B situation. The guests rooms are laid out to one side with a walkway to the main area and the kitchen. It helps keep a very peaceful surrounding so that you aren't running over the family or visa versa. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable and two of the rooms have gorgeous jacuzzi tubs for those who are so inclined. The grounds are gorgeous and beg to be strolled around in. Food was wonderful and if you are out and about -- they have good recommendations on restaurants to eat or avoid. I think this place is a great place to stay and enjoyed it completely!

We loved this

I read the other review (dated 11/06) and can say our experience was quite different. There are new owners as of 2/2007 and they are a couple who are visionary, kind and gentle. We felt totally pampered here! The previous owners were ill which may have accounted for the other reviewer's bad report. So, please do know that it is much improved. You will be pleased if you stay here now. We stayed two nights and will return again. The breakfasts were delicious and creative with a wide assortment. There was such kindness directed toward us, and a concern for our well-being that extended beyond the bounds of lodging.

looking for a great stay? keep looking!

False website and sign advertising. Supper club, afternoon tea service, english pub, wi-fi access, weekly cleaning, not at Ashington Manor's innkeepers cottage. You can however expect less than spotless accomodations, goofy electrial problems, a big storage shed eyesore off the master bedroom, and rudness from the owners. Whidbey does have some incredible places to stay, Ashington Manor is a sorry excuse for a bed and breakfast.
