Lake Union Bed & Breakfast, Seattle

we have heard about this place for years but it is impossible to get into. Then we read a seattle review on travel and found out the owner loves to engage with her guests. She is an amazing lady so we have heard and we plan to extend our stay as we found out she returns on the 4th of july. She has been on the queen mary and extended vacation and we got in because her staff have been breaking a few rules. They love her and say she always refer's to them as the owners keepers and just sits back and enjoy'sall the stories. By the way she claims she is just the innkeeper when she is not traveling. This home is sooooo elegant!!! There is a view from every room of the city and water. Her friends.... The likes of paul allen and mr. Gates sr. As well as robert rosellini have stopped by. The innkeepers say her cooking is always on the best of china and sterling. This morning i passed the well lighted china hutch and she has pieces that i dare not say the value. The innkeepers are instructed never serve the next course on the same pattern! My husband and i can not wait to meet her. The staff you can tell are well trained and you will wish for nothing. The sheets are changeed everyday and hand ironed. In the afternoon the lady of the house loves a glass of the finest sherry and has the best caviar! Thats just before you go for dinner. Upon returning she meets you to see how you day was and has been known to sprawl across your king size bed and just listen. In the morning a seven course breakfast! This has got to be the most romantic vacation my husband and i have had in 41 years. We travel alot but never have had time limits and they just get you what you want. I understand when the owner is home she fixes dinner and conversations go into the wee hours. Last but not to be left out, 13 barons could not find a palce to eat after introducing the new vintage from france and a great food saavy friend called the owner and she fixed the most unbeivable meal. We were shown the pictures and the cards for her to visit their chateau's. Again don't miss this one. This is remarkable! We want to meet her and i am sure the staff will be mum on the information they have shared but thought you should know! The lady of the house drinks very little but do not let this fool you her wine cellar has some of the best. And she does par take.
