Grandview Bed and Breakfast, Astoria

My husband and I decided to book the New Years Weekend at the Grand Hotel we got in on their winter special 2nd night for 39.00. We chose the butterfly room which was very cute and romantic! We were greeted by its host and owner and was immediatly told the history of the home and shown a book of all the best restaurants in the area and a little bit of what was going on for the weekend, as this was our first time to Astoria. The room was cozy and we had our own electic kettle in our room, there was ample tea and cookies but only coffee in the morning. We were on the 3rd floor of this victorian home so we had 3 flights of stairs to lug our stuff up to ! My husband said the next time it is the 2nd floor for us! The first morning we were served a lovely breakfast in the turret of the house of bagels,smoked salmon and fresh fruit with coffee or tea. Both my husband and I don't really care for salmon but we did enjoy the rest of the breakfast, but the next day our gracious cook realized this and she served us a great country breakfast with fresh chocolate muffins(yum). My only gripe with the house was that they needed some throw rugs in the rooms, those wood floors were very cold and maybe more light and room in the parlour but otherwise I would highly recommend it and will go back again this winter!
