Bait And Switch

Booked a nice second story room on-line, the virtual tour sold us. Problem came when we arrived and were told that our room wasn't available. Being the nice people they were (not), they were willing to honor the on-line price if we wanted to stay in a basement studio rather than the second story suite we paid for. Lady said we should have read the fine print at the bottom of the confirmation, however she didn't have a thing to say when I produced the printed confirmation and it didn't include the fine print she claimed it did. The printed confirmation did have the room number we reserved however, so her only defense was to get angry with us, hoping we'd leave...which we did. Sad business practice that can ruin a family vacation, hook a customer at a reasonable on-line rate and then not honor the printed confirmation. Avoid this place if you can, they don't deserve your time or money.
In case you're wondering, we immediately went looking for another hotel to stay in. Not only did we find a wonderful hotel, but they gave us a discount when we told them our story.
