Copper Heron, Unity

We were traveling through Maine in August 2007 and stopped in Unity to visit a friend who works at Unity College. I asked him where we might stay overnight. He suggested the Copper Heron Bed & Breakfast. Boy, was I glad he did. My wife and I wanted to experience what the people of rural Maine were like. What better way to find out than to stay in their home. Diana Avella the owner was a delite. When I said we might be late in arriving she said she would leave a key for us in an envelope on the front door. We stayed in the Garden Room overlooking her beautiful garden. It was very comfy. Only problem I'm 6'4" and the Garden Room walls are slightly tapered following the roof line. If you are tall ask for another room. The breakfast was served at 8am sharp. Talking around the breakfast table to the other guests was very relaxing, just like being home. I highly reccomend the Copper Heron if you go to Unity to maybe visit the college or for the upcoming Common Ground Country Fair they have in September.
