Hotel issues EAR PLUGS to guests!!!!

The problem we had was EXTREME street noise. The hotel on situated right on Hwy 1. I mean RIGHT ON Hwy 1. There was no frontage or setback from the street.
Both my wife and I spent the night experiencing trucks approaching and then passing by. I couldn't believe it! In the morning we found EAR PLUGS on both sides of the bed...I guess that would have helped if we found them before we went to bed.
Who wants to try to sleep in a place where they issue EAR PLUGS?...Kind of like going to a restaurant and given a clothespin for your nose, so you can stand the taste.
On the plus side, the breakfast was very good. However, they only served one dish...eggs. We liked ours, but the lady at the next table couldn' eat eggs and had to go without breakfast...very strange not to give the guests some type of choice?????
I'd pass on staying at the Hartstone. Find a place off the highway in Camden. Our best stay was at the Old Fort Inn in Kennebunkport. Beautiful grounds, food and the cost was the same as the Hartsone in Camden!!!
