East Park Inn, Racine

We reserved our room over the phone with Innkeeper Laurie and never saw her during our 3 day, 2 night stay. We did not get the suite we had reserved and were lied to about why it was not available. The innkeeper left her 13 yo daughter to check in guests and cook breakfast. No clock in the room, whirlpool tub was out of order the first night. Not many ammenities. We asked for a receipt on check out and did not get one. Laurie told her daughter to tell us it was all done electronically. The whole exerience was weird and unprofessional. Not worth the $200+ nightly price tag.

The innkeeper was crazy and the food was undercooked. Kids were screaming at 6am and woke us up. We were treated rudely and I saw a mouse in the bathroom of the room. VERY scary, very unclean, don't stay here!!! Go somewhere else, Laurie is not a good person to deal with.

I believe all the good reviews were written by the owner/family. Don't go! Go somewhere nice, safe and honest. Do not waste your hard earned money and time.

The staff was super nice and very professional. I think the first three reviews were written by competitors. We have stayed at places throughout the states and europe and this one rates at the top. We will defineately be back next year. Thanks

Laurie the owner is extremely dishonest. Rooms/furnishings falling apart. Mice/Rats running around, overgrown yard and a large trash pile in the back, don't let her take advantage of you.

When we arrived the room we were promised was not available, the service was terrible and staff was rude. The room we did get was not clean and phone did not work. We we woken at 6am by screaming kids and when wanted to leave, our car was parked in! Stay anywhere else, rip off!

I found the place to be extremely dirty, garbage everywhere. Food was stale and the Innkeeper was dishonest and acted crazy. I would rather sleep on the street corner (safer) then to stay there!

Unbelievable is the only word I can think of, and not in the good context. The organization Laurie the owner ran the day of our wedding was pathetic. The list of things did wrong would not fit in this review. When I got to the inn the morning of my wedding, Laurie the owner didn't even have the tables set up. There was barley anyone there to work so I wasn't that suppressed when she was so behind. We didn't get food until 3 hours later then schedule. Because of her slow service my husband and I did not get to dance, something we very excited about doing as Husband and wife. And our beverages were another nightmare. She did not even provide what she said she would. My guest had to leave and buy their own soda elsewhere. Especially the diabetics. Then she charged us over 2,000 dollars for beverages. She also cashed our damages deposit check. When asked why she said it was fo more beverages. That check was for damages, not beverages. Very dishonest. Do yourself a favor and have your special event somewhere else!!

Our four day stay was wonderful. Laurie took care of us and made us feel at home. We just kicked back and enjoyed. When we return to the Racine area East Park Inn will be our place to stay and I highly recommend. I can't think of anything I would change. Nice front porch for sipping wine and visiting.

Laurie is a great hostess and the house and city is dripping in history and interest. We stayed here because it looked great, was a great location, but then also discovered, with the help of Laurie, a wealth of information on the the history of Racine and local architecture. We stayed an extra day to take in the extra sights and plan to return. Note that the B&B is now known as 'East Park inn"
