My So and I went to Gloucester last year for a much needed vacation. We absolutely loved this hotel. It was quaint and sweet and the owners are wonderful. Can't wait to get back this year!!!

We loved this Inn.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/09
Rooms were very attractive. They gave us a free upgrade to a room with a large jacuzzi. Owners were very friendly, units were spotless. I left a jacket and they shipped it back to me right away. We loved this place.

I chose this motel, which shouldn't be considered an Inn, mainly because of the closest location to Wingaersheek Beach...which is fantastic. The location itself is directly next to the 128 highway exit, which is not mentioned or showed in the motel's advertisements. Additionally, there wasn't even coffee or cold muffins included in the heafty price. They did, however, have a refrigerator and separate sink outside the bathroom that came in handy with 2 people, and being able to keep small amounts of food. The real problem is that they had no problem with allowing some guest to show up blaring loud music, swearing at the top of their lungs, and running an extremely loud wirlpool bath at 1 a.m...this happened both nights we were there. The female Inn Keeper provided no discount or compensation whatsoever, basically telling me I lied because SHE didn't hear them swearing, and told me this is just part of staying at a hotel. Sorry, but I've stayed at hundreds of hotels across the country and no one else I've met allows their guests who are paying good money to enjoy their own weekend to be disturbed by others who are inconsiderate...or at least not offer some kind of consideration because of the inconvenience.

Awesome Place to Stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/07
For two previous summers me, my wife, and our now 4 year old son stayed in Gloucester at a motel right on the ocean, and we loved it. But we also paid for the location as well. This year, in an attempt to reduce costs so we could stay in Gloucester longer, we tried the Wingaersheek Inn and Motel. We were not disappointed by our new choice. In fact, we prefer it to the ocean-front motel. The owners were incredibly hospitable and accommodating. They were very knowledgable about local restaurants (we wanted to try a few new ones), and they provided reduced-price passes for the local beaches. The rooms (we split our stay among two rooms) were great. The two twin bed room was very small, with a small (no tub). However, the room was quaint and immaculate. It would be perfect for a couple. Room 14, however, was incredibly spacious with a main sleeping area, large bathroom with a HUGE jacuzzi tub, wet bar, and sitting room. It also had many windows to let the cool evening breeze in; if you didn't want to use the air conditioner. The room's decor was very original and had the feel of a bed and breakfast (not a standard motel room). The Wingaersheek Inn and Motel is conveniently located 5 minutes from Wingaersheek Beach (although we prefer Good Harbor Beach a thousand times more). It is close to Gloucester, Essex, and Manchester-by-the-Sea. We HIGHLY recommend the Wingaersheek Inn and Motel. For the price, the hospitality, and the location, you can't do any better in the Gloucester area. After our first trip to Gloucester in 2005 we decided to make it our annual family vacation spot. Now we plan to make the Wingaersheek Inn and Motel our annual place to stay. Gary Thomas Smith

Convenient, affordable, great beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/07
The Wingaersheek is delightful with lots of warm touches such as New England style quilts and fresh flowers in each room. The grounds and flowers are beautiful. The rooms are spotless. It is conveniently located near Gloucester harbor, Essex, Rockport, Ipswich and of course Wingaersheek Beach. The beach was a wonderful surprise, one of the best I've been to. Definitely a repeat visit.
