Vacation Village at Berkshires, Hancock

They totally misrepresented themselves. When they called me, they told me I WON a trip to their resort, through a raffle at the Bridal Expo held here in Boston, due to all the Birdes that where winnig Gowns, limo's phtographers etc... I didn't think anything of it. The representative on the phone said the only thing that my fiance and I had to do was copme up stay the weekend, tour their resort and tell f riends and family about our experience and the resort. Its seemed simple and easy enough. When the confirmation information came in the mail, no where in their letter did it state or say that it was time sharing , 90 mins to 3 hours long TOUR on purchasing time share!!!!! As we did the TOUR the repo was so nive and accommedating. When my fiance and I sat back down at the table to her the rest of the "Dog and Pony" act, we told him we were not interested. Boy did the devil pop out of this man!!! He called me a lier and said I was wasting his time and that he could be home watching the Red Sox game. Shocked as I was, I laid back into him and the district manager., I will be sending a letter to the BBB, DA Office in Massachusetts, FOX 25 and their corporate office in Virginia Beach. The Wyndham Hotel, resort and vacation resorts at least tell you the truth and I will be purchasing time share with them.

If you like marketing misrepresentation and pressure sales you’ll have a blast. Any place that can’t get their point across in 60-90 min is pressure cooker..!!. They say the briefing and tour is 90 min - four hours later they did every trick to keep you there. I'm looking to buy, but not here.. This was my 2nd tour, the 1st one in Orlando was done right, an hour presetation, 30min Q&A - Then I came away being very interested... this sales team at vaca village had me feeling lets get out of here..!!

Stayed in Suite 207A for Mothers Day week 2009. Received Suite 207B as a free upgrade. Suites were roomy and clean. The kitchen was well stocked. At first impression, I was very happy. That night I went to make up the sofa bed, but you could feel the springs by pushing your hands on the mattress so we never used it. The bathroom light switch had to be flicked twice to work. The shower doors were stuck off track. There were no batteries in two remotes. The Jacuzzi drained while you were in it. Two calls and two days later maintenance fixed every thing but bathroom light. They said they would fix it after our stay. Next day the stove exhaust fan fell off the cabinet onto my hand while I was cooking. Then that evening a smoke detector beeped for two hours until maintenance switched to a new detector after four return trips with batteries. Towel exchange took two days and two calls. The worst part was that you could hear every step from the unit above. In the middle of the night, I would be startled awake. I went home one day early so I could get some sleep. This would be a great resort if maintenance would step up and if they could insulate between the floors. In this case, I’d ask for the top floor suites, you’d get a great view of beautiful mountains.

The accommodations were clean, modern and spacious. The structures, however, are poorly insulated and not well built; if you're in a downstairs unit expect to hear the drumming of feet upstairs all night long. These are timeshare units (you will be offered the " be done (like, no new filters were available?) but that the filters weopportunity" to buy in at registration time, no doubt) that I wouldn't recommend mainly because the maintenance is haphazard. In our downstairs one-BR unit 3A the furnace turned on and off constantly every two or three minutes when we arrived. Although a relatively quiet unit, it is located within the living area and became annoying. I opened the access door to find that the filter was totally clogged to the point of collapsing into the air plenum. I notified the desk, which told me that it was the weekend and nothing couldre changed at least monthly and they would investigate on Monday. To quiet the thing down I turned the heat off (I found out later that the furnace in that unit actually serves the adjoining unit 3B...our thermostat apparently controls both units. Those poor people must have felt cheated but I wasn't going to listen to that thing run all night for two nights so off it went. On Monday, no one did anything so I took the dirty filter to the front desk. I showed them the date someone had written on the filter when it was installed -- four months previously! On Wed. morning when we finally departed they still hadn't replaced the dirty filter. So the furnace was on minimally during our stay the whole five days (actually four nights and a morning). Ergo, I wouldn't expect anything to be corrected on weekends, and I definitely wouldn't buy into the timeshares they offer due to inferior construction quality and poor on-site maintenance. If you go, insist on a top-floor accommodation unless you're used to the clatter of clomping feet above your head.

PROS: This was our first time using our RCI time share in the Fall at this beautiful hotel! The place was Clean and Furnished well. The views were outstanding look out at the mountains. The fireplaces in the rooms were a perfect touch! Vacation Village is a place for both a romantic getaway and a family vacation. CONS: Privacy was poor the wall are uninsulated & not built for silence between units. I had the unit next door banging on my door @ 8:30pm and ask us to lower the T.V. in the living room; because his kid were trying to sleep. This ruined my night; and would definitely make my family to not return to Vaction Village in the future.

When we first walked into the lobby it was like being at home but better. The people at the front desk are so nice and friendly. Checken was a breeze!! When we walked in to building new 14 we were blowen away. It was so clean,huge and Very comfy. We had a fully equiped Kitchen with a coffee maker,stove 20 Knives 20 forks and 20 hot Plates. Also,we had a dishwasher,microveave,phone,bleander and toster. This place is so nice you really have to try out this resort. A plus is that you have a washerdryer and fire places in every unit. We are owers here so we get treated like gold.

The service was bad, it was as though the staff hated being there. The outside was dirty i'd get up to go by the pool and nothing was wiped down..........That ha snever been the case at any other resort. Staff was hard to find, had to ask for wood too start a fire at night. The indoor pool cut my daughters feet up and it was cold. All the machines were out of order in game room............and machines in the weight room were not working. the out door hot tub was only in service for 2 days i was there. that was broke. The outdoor smoores was great thanks to the gentleman that got people involved. The kids activities were horriable staff had no care , you need to involve people and staff needs to act like they like ther jobs. Front desk people were rude, the only thing was the maintance men seemed to care and were helpful. I will never go back or suggest this resort to families , not family friendly.
