honeymoon dream
By Daniel, 7/30/08
Knowing it was our honeymoon, we were given a room away from the others. Every evening before bed, we joined the owners for cards and wine -- they were so hospitable! Every morning, a delicious full breakfast is served for guests and residents. At the end of the week, we were even offered an extra day at no additional charge! We had an excellent time, felt very comfortable in the home-like room, and can't wait to go back!

Hidden Gem!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/8/07
This place is a hidden gem, the innkeepers Pam and Tom were wonderful. They make you feel like you are at home and each morning were offering a variety of fresh fruits, homemade breads, cheeses, cereals, teas and coffees. We had a blast playing bocce with other house guests on the professional bocce ball court on the side yard with a glass of wine each night. Each room has it's own unique style and the home was cozy and comfortable. They have several bikes you can take to ride down to the beach or just to ride around the neigborhood. You can also walk down to the beach. My wife and I will definitely stay there again.

Home away from home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/07
We've stayed at the inn a few times in the past and enjoyed every minute of it. Tom and Pam are a super couple who made our stay here so comfortable. The rooms are super clean. Even our 2 boys loved it there. Breakfast was always a treat. Pam would always offer us fresh eggs from her own chickens. And the variety of guests on the patio always made conversation exciting and interesting. We look forward to visiting the inn sometime in the future. I definetly recommend this for your stay in Manchester.

Best kept B&B secret of Boston's North Shore!
By S M, 6/9/07
This is the best kept B&B secret of Boston's North Shore! The rates were excellent! All other B&B's we looked at were so out of our price range, it was ridiculous. So we took a gamble and were so pleasantly surprised at the value of this charming inn. The innkeepers are an absolute delight, and the inn and grounds are full of interest, detail, and have a peaceful quality to them. We had a room upstairs with our own bathroom, wireless internet access, refrigerator, microwave, and cable TV. With all of these amenities, the place still seemed quaint and a bit off the beaten path. The innkeepers are the friendliest, most genuine people in the world. You will see them around the inn or on the grounds. We had some great conversations with them and felt like we had known them for years. They put out breakfast in the morning for all the guests, such as scrambled eggs and some other hot items in the screened in sun porch. You are free to eat fruit, toast/bagels, & drink some tea/coffee, or orange juice, as you chit chat with the innkeepers or other guests over breakfast. The other guests were as fascinating as the innkeepers! There is a cozy game room with a pool table, piano, books, and a fireplace if I remember correctly. We didn't spend much time in there because we had our 6 month old baby with us. There are porches and rocking chairs around much of the inn. There's even a porch off the 2nd floor that is kind of like a rooftop porch, which is very unique. Each of the rooms are decorated well and have a unique flavor. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. There is a double porch swing out the back, and you can stroll through various gardens behind the inn. The inn is set back a bit from the main road so it does feel very secluded even though you are within easy driving distance of many North Shore attractions/destinations such as Gloucester/Cape Ann, Salem, Rockport, etc. I went to college in Wenham, so I experienced the beauty of the North Shore for 4 wonderful years. I am so glad I know about this inn because any time we return to Boston for reunions or weddings, this is where we will always stay! We love the Columbia Inn!
