Wonderful Night
By Jennifer, 08/12/09
The castle is gorgeous and the view from the hot tub...WOW! My husband and I stayed for our 2nd Anniversary and had the place all to ourselves...except for the innkeeper, of course. Bob the innkeeper was amazing and the breakfast he made was unbelievable! He made our stay very comfortable and treated us like royalty! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves the charm and beauty of the simpler times!

Fabulous Romantic Getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/27/09
This Bed and Breakfast exceeded all of our expectations for a wonderfully romantic weekend. Our room had the most Romantic lighting that was just the perfect touch after enjoying the rooftop Hot Tub (which has a spectacular view). The entire castle was fabulous and we enjoyed breakfast in the dining room. Kalamazoo had so much to offer, shops, dining, art. We loved the Wine Loft for cocktails! The staff at the Castle was so helpful in determining how to enjoy our weekend. We can't wait to go back!

Live like Kings and Queens
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/08
The view rom the hot tub roof is incredible! The castle is absolutely beauitiful. All the decorative rooms. Each one is unique in its own way. From the tour to check out you are a King or a queen. Breakfast time is late enough that you can sleep in if you want. This is a way to escape it all and just get way.. back to simpler times.

Beautiful Treasure!!
By Mimi, 04/10/08
This was a most dreamy castle. At arrival, the innkeeper gave us a guided tour of the place and was able to give us some historical background to the house. It was by sheer luck that we had the house all to ourselves that night. The rooms were beautiful. We actually stayed in the French Room, which was perfect. The heated marble floors are a plus, especially in the cold weather. We really enjoyed the Miracle Room, and it's aptly named. There's a steam room, sauna, activity room and the hot tub was on the roof. Unfortunately, the hot tub wasn't working properly, otherwise we would have taken advantage of it. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. I was greeted with a delicious fruit, yogurt and granola bowl. The quiche afterward was creamy and flavorful. I would definitely return, and when the weather is warmer so that I can enjoy the grounds.

A fabulous getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/24/08
There was an unexpected turn of events that forced us to cancel our weekend plans and by a stroke of inspiration, we thought to see if the Henderson Castle had a room available for us as an alternate plan. The staff were very accomodating and provided us with the opportunity to stay in the gorgeous Italian room for two nights. Our stay here turned what could have been a disappointing weekend into a wonderous occassion to relax and enjoy this magical place with all of its grandeur and attention to details. The staff were generous with their hospitality and the rooms were so warm and inviting. It was the perfect way to spend a weekend as an unexpected magical romantic getaway.

We hope to return with friends!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/18/07
The amenities were outstanding! It was the best bed and breakfast we have stayed at in all our years of staying at bed and breakfasts! The staff and owner were very knowledgeable and entertaining. The beauty of all the restorations was breathtaking. You really DO go back in time staying there and yet you have today's availability of amenities. The breakfast was very good and there was plenty of it. It was a beautiful anniversary memory for us. Taking the tour, given by the innkeeper, Sharon, just makes you want to learn more about the owners and there vision for Henderson Castle. We definitely plan a return and hope to have our friends from Grand Haven, MI meet us there in the summer.

Dream come true!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/07
Henderson Castle is absolutely amazing; you simply can’t do it justice in words. Everything is top notch, the innkeeper Sharon was terrific. The rooms were wonderful, very clean from top of the Castle to the basement. The overall beauty of the Castle was breath taking. I surprised my wife by taking her here, this was truly a dream come true. I will talk about this place for the rest of my life!

One night stay felt like a vacation.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/21/07
I came on business and brought work with me, having every intention of staying in my room, but I was immediately drawn into the history and beauty of architecture. The atmosphere was calming and quiet, and I felt quite at home wandering around and exploring the uniquely different rooms and artwork. If your only interest is a room and a TV to fall asleep to, then maybe this place isn't for you--but I'd recommend it anyway. A trip to the sauna, followed by a glass of wine on the roof top overlooking the view of the city was a great way to end the night. I appreciated the access to the kitchen for something to drink and snack on in the evening and loved waking up to breakfast and coffee without having to go out right away. Although I thought the rate was a bit pricey when I first booked the room, I felt it was worth it after my stay and will definitely be going back again--only I'll leave work at home the next time and take advantage of some of the cultural activities downtown while I'm there.

disorganized
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/07
The building is beautiful, which may be worth the stay. But the place is terribly mismanaged; they don't return calls, and don't always notify guests ahead of time if a wedding or other event will force a change in plans.
