Great food

My husband and I just spent the evening at the famed Rider's Inn. We had no preconcieved notions going there; we just needed a place to stay. It was what you would expect from a very, very old inn. The room was old but comfortable. It felt like you were staying at your grandmother's house for the night. We had a very pleasant stay. And the food was terrific! Our only reservation in recommending this to anyone, is that if you have to be anyplace early in the morning, don't plan on an early turn in the night before. We were not visited by any of the spirits of the past, but instead haunted by the live entertainment in the pub until 11:45pm. We decided at that point that we intended to sleep late the next morning. The Inn keepers we very accommodating about that. They served us a beautiful breakfast of our choosing, at the time of our choosing the next morning, in our room. It was a refreshing opportunity for us to sleep very late, and not to feel rushed out the door. The Pub is very quaint and serves a nice meal. The bathroom was clean and up to date, yet in keeping with the antique feel of the atmosphere. This is an important feature to me. If you are looking for something posh and spa like: This is not it. But if you want a nice place to lay your head, in a historical building, with the opportunity to talk with some nice folks and have a great meal; I highly recommend this inn. I would probably stay here again under the same circumstances.
