Description

This Greek Revival style home was built near the middle of the Nineteenth Century and has become an infamous place of great interest ever since the Andrew and Abby Borden were the victims of ax murderer Lizzy Borden in 1892; to further play on this grizzly claim to fame, the breakfasts served include items very much like those eaten by the Bordens on the morning before the murders. Offering two two-rooms suites, there are six guestrooms in all, one with private bath, and some located in the attic, and all appointed elegantly in the best of Victorian style. In addition, there is an on-site gift shop and a museum for those intrigued by the now legendary Lizzy Borden who would like to learn more.

The Best Experience Ever!
By snaggle!!!!, 3/27/11
My husband and I spent the night in Lizzie & Emma's room, which is a large two bedroom suite. I can't express what an amazing experience we had. The staff were incredible. Will, our host for the evening, was phenomenal! His knowledge was fascinating and he went out of his was to made us feel right at home. The house was immaculate and furnished beautifuly. The gift shop was perfect, a great place to purchase one of a kind items (I bought a pair of Lizzie Borden earrings.) My husband and I even got to meet Max, the "official" house cat! We had the time of our lives, and we can't wait to come back again!

Absolutely Awesome!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/20/09
I absolutely loved this place. I spent the night in the John Morse Guest room and the staff were so courteous and made me really comfortable. Almost like being at home. I can't say anything ghostly happened, but it was thrilling none the less. The othe local sites and restaurants definitely made this trip a definite pleasure.

Always a great time.
By Katrina B, 7/5/08
The rooms were immaculate. The staff was fantastic and very helpful, by having brochures of nearby attractions and full of helpful pointers. There was a great private tour of the house which is beautifully decorated with period furnishings. The breakfast is excellent and consists of eggs, jhonny cakes, fruit, coffee, hash browns and more. This is a great place to go and is worth every penny. 10 stars.

Very Exciting!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/23/06
This was the most fun experience I have had in a long time. The staff is very knowledgable and accommodating and treat everyone special. The stories told by them are told in a way that make you feel like they're telling them for the first time; not like a typical touristy, bland, canned announcement. You can feel the history and aura of what happenned over 100 years ago here. My daughter and I stayed up until 1am taking in the nighttime tour and midnight seance. Eleanor was wonderful as the guide. Liz, a psychic, performed the seance afterwards. If you get the opportunity for the seance, take advantage of it. There are plenty of opportunities to roam the house and take pictures. It was very difficult to sleep that night. We both did, but with the nightlight on! We will return.

The Lizzie Borden B&B was the best place I've spent the night. The tour guide and night manager were absolutely wonderful. As a guest, you couldn't want for anything. I slept like a baby! (When I did sleep!!) Will definelty stay there next time I'm in Mass. Just wish I could afford to take the entire family!
