Whits End B & B, Chatham

Stayed there one night. This place is very old and it smells old to me, possibly with a hint of urine. There is no WiFi and the room is very small and cluttered. Old analog TV and very narrow stairs to the two rooms upstairs. Upstairs was very stuffy so we turned on the small window air conditioner. When returned from downtown the A/C was off and we were told that we were wasting electricity. For $130/nite I will run the A/C as much as I need to. To turn off the A/C the owner had to invade the privacy of our room and my wife said she thought some of her belongings had been touched. Putting up with this was too much and we had to leave after one night and probably should have left sooner but the owner and her daughter were very nice when we first arrived. When we announced we were leaving the cordiality turned to ice. The beds which are very important to us were weird with a very springy mattress suspended by wires and springs like an army cot. Always look for photos and customer reviews before committing to a B & B. We learned our lesson.
