Bow Roof House, Chatham

Vera was very friendly but when we said that we needed breakfast at 7AM, because we had a function to attend that day, she said she does not get up that early. She then stated that she could have coffee and juice for us if we waited till 8AM. To say the least we were surprised and annoyed with that attitude. I had never had this issue at any B&B before. Aside from that, beds were comfortable with clean linens. Beware that there is no AC and we have had a terribly hot and humid summer this year. This made for a very uncomfortable night. The rooms do have a fan. Bathroom was very tiny but rest of room was adequate. Plenty of onsite parking. Price was reasonable for the area but when we had to tack on price for breakfast (which should have been included at the B&B) at a local restaurant, it was no longer the good deal we had hoped for.

The house is approximately 300 years old and the rooms are all very clean and with nice old furniture. Vera is extremely friendly and happy to tell stories but leaves you alone if you need your peace. I wish I could go back soon

We stayed there every time we were in Chatham. It is a big house with several rooms. Vera is a wonderful host, she cooks breakfast for her guests. We eat together, chatting like a family during breakfast time. Every room is clean. The location is superb, right in the end of main street leading to main shopping district. The price is reasonable, Vera has kept the price for years, less than $100 a night in such a great location with wonderful service. We definitely will go back next time.

Walk to town and beach. You have privacy, peace and quiet, and Vera is very hospitable if you need it, or you can be left alone. Nice house and rooms, and they usually have a breeze. Some have fireplaces, and the main inn does as well. Nice getaway.Come and go as you please, no locked doors. We'll go back.

The Bow Roof House is a treasure and any traveler(s) on vacation or otherwise should stay here. Very friendly people, rich history and a stone's throw from the beach and just a few minutes walk to downtown Chatham.
