An exciting Let Down
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/11
I stayed at this place because my husband and I had a child free weekend. The internet promised a great water park for the kids and a relaxing pool and hot tub for the adults. We were excited for the hot tub! The lobby is beautiful as is the courtyard, the rooms are nice as well. But unfortunatly my husband who smokes had to go all the way outside to the one of three exits to smoke because if he did a $300 fine would be given to us. In our room we breathed chlorine for two days it even followed into the car. We had a pool side room where it leaked in. Until 11pm all that could be heard are children screaming while they played in the "adults" pool. We never even went down to swim. We wanted to leave after the first night but the hotel wouldn't allow a charge back and said we could leave but the card would still be charged two nights. Wish we hadn't stayed. The waterpark is seperate from the hotel $29 per person. Maybe one day I'll bring my 5 yr old, for the day. Thats what this place is good for. It has Pizza Hut and kids and nothing to do in the area.

Wow, what a change
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/08
This property has been completely renovated recently. A big change from when it was the CT Grand. The restaurant was great, especially the Sunday brunch. Also, they're building an indoor water park. My recent trip was for business, but when the water park opens, I'm going to bring my family.

"SHOW PERFECT".........but.......
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/06
This motel was show perfect in every way. The outside was kept well, parking lot was kept well, and the front lobby was beautiful. Everything you need to see before you "check into" a place. BUT......there were so many disapointing things about this hotel, it would take an hour to write them all. The breakfast buffet was nothing more than a joke. The pool was so dirty I wouldn't have let my dog swim in it. The laundry room was located in the pool area-as was the game room-which was so hot--you could not stand to be in there. Not to mention they locked it up at 10 pm. The beds were just short of sleeping on the floor, hard! I believe the whole problem with it all was there was not enough help. With the exception of the night desk clerk-the other employees seemed to be in a coma. Never could you find help or anyone other than the girl at the desk. Not a good experience. I would give it one star at best.

Can't beat the price.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/6/06
$130 a night + tax to stay at a tired Courtyard Marriott in downtown Waterbury, CT? I stayed at the CT Grand in Dec. 2005 with low expectations. While I wouldn't plan to stay on vacation, it was perfectly adequate for a one or two night business stay. The only other property that rivals the $59 a night is the Motal 6. Need I say more?! F.M.
