Gilchrist Guesthouse, Vermilion

We have stayed at the Gilchrest for the last 10 years whenever we can. Right next to the lake and close to town. Great atmosphere and very clean. My wife and I stayed here while planning our wedding at the Inland Maritime Museum and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. Close to Cedar Point and not far from Cleveland, Vermillion is a great place to relax on the lake.

The location was perfect! Close to everything we needed. Even though it was the dead of winter, I can't think of a more romantic setting. We will definately stay here again! Soon, I hope!

The Gilchrist guesthouse is a great tree shaded property for enjoyable summer days on the porch. Location is perfect for walking to town . Will be back this summer.

travel from the east side to vermillion to sample the fine french resturant. The resturant recommened Gilcrest house. Which, I might add was my first adventure of staying at an Inn. The place was clean, welcoming, wonderful atmosphere, and the owners friendly, professional and informative. tthe rooms where a touch of new and old very clean and presented with a private bath. Not to mention the breckfast in the morning which is truly standard but breckfast is pretty much standard no matter where you are in the world. Located in the historic district in vermillion you're right next to the water and a very short walk from high end resturants and old world shopping. I highly reommend this place!

I fell asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the nearby beach.We very much enjoyed our stay here .The town is great with lots to do and the Inn is beautiful with a location thats puts you within walking distance of everything.The innkeepers were very accomodating and told us of the interesting history of the home. We will be back!

You never even saw the owners until it was time to get your money. They were home but instead of welcoming you, they had a note with keys already in door. Which in our case, they didn't have a key. It was not like any bed and breakfast that I would recommend. Either they are burnt out or need to do research about hospitality. The bathroom was so small that you could barely take a sit down. Don't waste the money go to the holiday Inn or other means.
