Farnam Guest House, New Haven

My friends and I came from Europe for the Indiana Jones 4 Movie shoot. We had terrific luck in finding the Farnam Guest House. We stayed 10 nights and were completely comfortable. The house is amazing and the staff is very friendly. The owners were even fluent in French!! I recommend highly.

We had a lovely and peaceful stay in your gracious mansion. It was the perfect retreat we were looking for. The breakfasts were delicious and our room was spacious and comfortable. We will certainly be back.

This place was wonderful! Breakfast was a full breakfast, we had eggs florentine the first day, pancakes and bacon the next. So many B&Bs offer only continental breakfast these days, it was nice to get a hot meal! Beds were nice and firm, good for our backs! We were there on a humid weekend and the bedrooms were comfortable with window air conditioners, perhaps I only wished the living rooms and dining rooms were air conditioned as well. Service was amazing, all the people who work there were a delight to talk with. The location is great, and it was a great way for our family to stay altogether to enjoy our family wedding. Thanks!

Yet again, my stay at the Farnam Guesthouse was an immense pleasure. The staff is wonderful, very attentive and extremely helpful throughout my entire two week stay. and I plan to return next summer. I will be back again next year.

I usually don't take the time to write reviews like this, but I was so struck by the Farnam Guest House that I felt compelled to sing its praises. The house is beautiful and spacious, with all the luxury but none of the pretension of other higher priced B&B's I've stayed at. The rooms were exquisitely decorated, clean and inviting. The staff courteous and friendly; and the food was as delectable as the atmosphere. And on top of it all this historic mansion has a working elevator! More than worth the price, the Farnam Guest House is, in this Yale parent's opinion, the finest place to stay in New Haven.

Our room had a smell to it... can't describe, maybe there was a cat around? We only worked with one of the owners,... she gave personal attention in the beginning, but then seemed to be all about business after that. Maybe because we'd have to pay the room charge regardless. Be sure you're into dining with other guests... if they have a full house, seating at the table can get pretty "cozy" (read: Tight). Not walking distant from downtown New haven, but about 10 minutes if you drive.
