Nice but old
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/08
Chilmark is a bit out of the way, which is why we chose to stay at the Picket house. Previous reviews where excellent, so we booked for several days. The owner and her children are delightful, but the house is old, which is not a bad feature but was not in the greatest shape, as it was dilapidated and really not clean. The sheets where old and the rooms did not smell fresh. Breakfast was meager, with an offering of fruits, granola and coffee. For the price paid, you are better off at a hotel or a higher end B&B. We have stayed at many B&B's across the world, some excellent, some not so great.Mrs Picket is a pleasant lady, but her property and offered amenities do not justify the asking price

Home Away From Home
By shanette, 7/29/07
On each of my visits to Martha's Vineyard over the past 12 years I have also made a point to stay at the wonderful Pickett House B&B in Chilmark at least a couple of nights. It is tucked just off the main road leading to the most beautiful clay cliffs on the East Coast. The history of the handsome B&B and the warmness of the owner, Elizabeth, always gives me the feeling of being a guest in a dear friends home not just a customer.

We can't wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/20/06
You have to look for this wonderful B&B, part of the charm being one of a kind. They gave us privacy, information about the island and made us feel very welcomed. We relaxed in “Moshup”, a wonderful large room with a king sleigh bed. It was clean, cozy, decorated with high end furnishings, lovely flowers and quiet. The breakfast was fresh banana bread and fruit which was all we needed as we wanted to enjoy long walks on the beaches and just be away from it all. Very relaxing, I can’t wait to go back again and just made my reservation for this summer.
