White House on High Street, Port Jefferson

there is nothing to dislike about white house on high street - the location right in port jefferson is excellent - the owners marge and phil are very knowledgeable about the area and the rooms are just stunning - there are 3 rooms and we have seen them all :) the jackie room is by far the largest with the large king bed and the amazing marble bathroom that holds a whirlpool tub for 2 and a massive shower for two that has tons of shower heads you can arrange in all sorts of configurations. the fireplace is just perfect on a cool night - the mood is romantic and the jackie room is worth the extra money. the second room is the eleanor room - it has an out of africa feel to it with the palm overhead fan - the fireplace central to the room is warm and inviting this room also has a whirlpool tub for 2 and a seperate shower. a special feature about the eleanor room is it has a private outside balcony accessed from inside the room - perfect in the summer or for smokers - as there is absolutely no smoking in the B&B - we've been there several times. can you tell? LOL the third room is the edith suite - it is 2 rooms. the main bedroom has a queen bed. the second room is a parlor but converts to a bedroom at night should it be needed.( there is a pocket door if you want to have seperate sleeping areas) the bathroom for this room has a large vanity and a glassed in tub/ shower combo - great for friends travelling together. i would recommend this to anyone who likes a warmer more initmate feeling place. for romantics - or anyone who wants a luxury travel experience.
