Big on beauty, short on service

Stayed in one of this Bed & Breakfast's cottages - exceptional location! (rolling hills, farm lanes aplenty to hike, pond next to cottage) Cottage was beautiful despite a kitchen that was not clean (stove grease-splattered, cooking/serving pieces with caked-on food).
'Breakfasts' for our stay were fiascoes. Day 1 - owners expected us to use already-opened containers of juice and milk that were in the fridge when we arrived, NO arrangements made for what or when breakfast would be provided (prepared food delivered only after we called the 'main house'; it arrived after 9:30 a.m. and was barely sufficient for the number in our party). Day 2 - the promised pre-arrangements for breakfast once again did not materialize, owner showed up at 7:30 a.m. with groceries for us to prepare our breakfast. We were basically ignored during our stay. Although we did get a cheery telephone call our last day asking about our method of payment! Pricey accommodations made harder to swallow by poor service.
