It's a place to sleep

Pros: The Inn's proximity to downtown Sugarcreek makes it an ideal location to base you exploration of Amish country. The beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. Parking is close, and the general area seems safe.
Cons: Entry to the rooms is by a physical key (rather than electronic key card). The keys are common house keys and could easily be copied but unscrupulous visitors. There is no way to secure the door to you room beyond the single deadbolt which is operated by the key. The flat screen televisions are well positioned, but very small. In our room the coffee maker was filthy and had to be thoroughly cleaned before we could use it. We also found that the amount of ambient light that was able to seep in through the curtains made it difficult to sleep. The curtains failed to fully cover the windows which created a bit of a privacy issue. Summer visitors way want to reconsider as the air conditioning system is "old," as the Inn's staff told us. Translate that to, doesn't work all the time. This made for an entirely miserable night's sleep on a particularly warm and muggy night. Our concerns were dismissed by the Inn's staff as "petty".
Overall, this is a mom 'n pop operation and you shouldn't expect anything more. There are many other hotels in the area that will provide a more professional atmosphere at competitive rates. If everything else is full, you can make due with this location. Arrive with low expectations and you should be impressed.
