We were travelling on a road trip from Lake Tahoe and decided to explore the Chester area, having been there many decades ago. Discovered the inn and called Joyce, the owner, and she showed us the detached cottage. We loved the accommodations and stayed two nights instead of the one intended. Sitting by the river any time of the day was very relaxing and gave us a great look at nature at its grandest. A bald eagle came down, grabbed a fish and flew off. Hopefully we will be able to come back soon

I loved the house, it was very comfortable and I felt like I had plenty of privacy. The breakfast was awesome. The inn keeper made me feel very at home. I had read a previous review on here and was very shocked to see how great it was when I arrived (nothing like I expected). If I am ever in the area I would love to stay there again.
During a 3 week tour of California in June 2008 we stayed at maybe 15 places altogether. They were all pretty good, but the Cinnamon Teal Inn was our favourite. We got a wonderfully warm and friendly welcome, a nice room in an interesting building, and an excellent breakfast before we left.
We chose one of the two smaller, lower priced rooms - but it was still big enough for the two of us and great value for money.
One or two bonus features we got - which unfortunately can't be guaranteed to all guests - were deer wandering through the garden in the early morning and a sighting of a bald eagle at the far end of the Chester causeway, at a location recommended by the Cinnamon Teal inn keeper. We also got good advice on local places to visit, which otherwise we might have driven right by.
