This B&B is located just two blocks south of Independence National Park and two blocks north of South Street so the location can not be beat. The hosts are congenial and talkative, more than willing to share what they know about the area. They recommended an Italian restaurant that was so good, we may never eat Italian any where else. The rooms are smaller than traditional hotel rooms, but that is to be expected in an older home. The rooms are up one or two flights of stairs, so those who have difficulty with stairs need to be aware. Breakfast choices each day were cereal, toast, bagels, oatmeal and some type of fresh baked goods. The hosts provide coffee, orange juice, milk and hot water for tea. Plan to hear a brief history of the house on your first morning. When we left, they were happy to arrange for an airport shuttle to take us to our flight.
There are a few down sides to this B&B, though they are minor. While we certainly were not there to watch television, we did watch some each night. The station selection was very, very limited. The bed was a bit "squishy" for our taste, as were the pillows. Also, the fitted sheet would not stay on the bed. The bathroom had only a shower, which ordinarily would not be a problem, but with all the walking required in Philadelphia, it would have been nice to soak in a tub at the end of a long day.
Knowing all that we know, we would stay here again. The price was right, the location was good and the annoyances were minor. No place is perfect and overall the experience was a good one.
