Best Vacation Ever!

This B&B is so Cute,beautiful and clean, the staff is so friendly and helpful, they make you feel right at home. We stayed in the Osprey Room and it was very nice,ocean and village views that are picturesque and the room was designed right out of a restoration hardware magazine, comfort to die for. Massages from Glenna that we are still thinking about and missing. Loved this place!

Overpriced

We stayed here for our 1 year wedding anniversary as well. It was very nice but very overpriced. We've stayed at other bed and breakfasts and in comparison, this one had the least amount of ammentites with the highest price tag. Once the main house closed, you have nothing (ice, coffee, anything you may need) so we were left in our room with warm wine and no coffee, etc. so I would rate the service as mediocre at best. The breakfast they offer in the morning is mediocre. In fact, we stayed at a Holiday Inn the next night, and their breakfast the following morning was much better than the one we received here. There are many bed and breakfasts in Mendocino, I would highly recommend shopping around. You can find something comparible without having to spend as much as we did.

Our 1 year wedding anniversary

We went here march of 08' for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We are a lesbian couple and was concerned on how we would be treated on our vacation. We had never been to Mendocino and was pleasantly surprised by the great service and friendly staff at the JD house. The rooms were immaculate and very cozy ,,,, they didn't have that scary I'm a really old old victorian feel but had a cross between rustic and modern feel. The morning breakfast that comes with your stay was very well presented and very very very good. It was nice to indulge in some of the great local food they provided in the morning. My favorite were the scones with the home made preserves (mmmm the peach was great). Me and my wife just wanted to say thank you to the JD house for making us feel sooo welcome. We definatly will be back Shanel and OJ
