Anchor Inn, Ocean City

The Anchor Inn is the perfect place to stay for our week by the shore. We have gone back every year or at least every other year since 1998. The hosts Bob and Carol immediately make us feel so welcome to stay at their Inn and provide us with all the information and help we need to have the perfect stay. They provide us with free beach tags, locations of great places to eat and shop, and the location of needed conveniences like the bank or drugstore. They are in a perfect spot in Ocean City. The boardwalk and beach really are just 1 1/2 blocks away. You only have to cross two streets if you walk up 9th street from the Anchor Inn. One of the theme parks is directly in line with the Inn and you can even see the ferris wheel from one of the top floor rooms. The other park is just a few blocks further down the boardwalk. If you walk in the other direction away from the Ocean, you only have to walk a block to get to Asburry Ave where all the cool shops are located. The room was spotless and felt very clean as always. The beds are very comfortable and cozy and we all slept great! We had a microwave and fridge in the room and they provided fresh brewed coffee every morning along with popcorn for our kids at night. They have convenient outdoor showers, so we never have to worry about traipsing sand up to our room and into our beds. The inn has a wrap around porch with plenting of seating for people to sit out on any time of the day. The breeze is amazing and it's so relaxing to sit out there to start your morning or end your evening with gorgeous flowers in view all around the front and sides of the inn. The kids always have the time of their lives every time we go, and they still never tire of staying at the Anchor Inn. They have never even desired to stay anywhere else in Ocean City. Bob and Carol make us all feel at home! Thank you so much for providing us with so many great memories over the years! We love the Anchor Inn!!

My daughter & I needed a place to stay over night in this wonderful, family oriented, fun town. We called the Anchor Inn because we had stayed there a few years ago and had a wonderful experience. Lucky for us, they were able to accommodate us. It was just as nice as I remembered it. The room was roomy with a little kitchenette off of it. It was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The outside of the Inn is quite picturesque with a great, huge front porch and all around the house there are lovely flowers and flowering bushes. Bob & Carol, the owners, are very nice and helpful. I hope to return again sometime soon.

My husband and I just got back from the Anchor inn, and I have to say, the pictures of the rooms are nothing like what we had. When we got into our room, we had bold patterned wallpaper from the 1970's EVERYWHERE, (walls, bathroom, closet) an the sink was right next to our bed/my husband's head, which was okay, however the sink was making noise all night. The walls were thin, and when you walk in, you feel like you're walking into someone's private house. a dining room table greets you. The decor was just BAD. (My husband joked that elderly people must love the place.) But the people were sweet, our room was always clean, and the price was right. The hotel is about 2 blocks from the beach, and so all in all, it wasn't that bad...

Bob & Carol are very friendly and will give you suggestions and directions if you need them. They also make you feel very welcome. The Inn was very clean and the beach is very close. We had a great time and hope to return next year.

When we arrived my Daughter and her friend thought Bob and Carol were so Nice and said they are so Cute. When we were leaving they both told me they feel like they have known Bob and Carol there whole life. That is a big compliment coming from 15 year olds. That is how you feel when you stay at the Anchor Inn. After your stay you leave with your heart a little more filled then when you arrived.

I have been visiting the Anchor Inn for many years now. I first came with my Mother and my 2 kids, then just my kids and eventually with friends. Even my husband who doesn't like the beach still talks about the one summer he came along with us.I have been there in the summer and for the Festival in October. I would highly recommend the Anchor Inn for a great relaxing vacation with 2 wonderful hosts. Sitting on the front porch with a good book or good friends is the ultimate in relaxation. Bob and Carol make you feel so welcome and strive to make your trip relaxing, memorable and fun. I couldn't imagine staying anyplace else in Ocean City. I'm already looking forward to my trip this summer. On behalf of my family and friends I'd like to say Thank You to Bob and Carol for always making us feel like their special guests and not paying customer. Edna, Amanda, Nicholas and the friends and family we've brought with us over the years.

Carol and Bob are the friendliest, caring, and loving care takers that you'll ever meet at a hotel. We feel as a family, that every summer going back there we feel were with family again. We have been going there for about 8 years. I couldn't imagine staying any place else but there because its like our second home. The Anchor Inn is in such a great location, its only a block and a half from the board walk. We sincerely recommend anyone thinking about staying in Ocean city, the Anchor Inn is the place to stay. We recently returned from a 2 night stay at Anchor Inn. We were looking for a fair price, a clean room (which was spotless and air conditioned) and be close to the beach. We got all three and so much more. Bob & Carol make you feel right at home and are so helpful to make your stay effortless. The front porch is the best. This is where we ate our breakfast each morning and our take-out dinners each night. It was hot when we were there but you have a big swimming pool (the ocean) 1 1/2 blocks away!!! They will provide you with coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the morning, beach tags, free parking, beach chairs and a cart to get all your gear to the ocean. They provide an outside shower and changing room which is very helpful to keep the sand out of your bed!!! At night, you can pick out a movie to watch in your room or pick out a game, both of which offer a plentiful selection. I would not hesitate to recommend this inn and hope to go back next year to revisit. Thank You Bob and Carol for a Home away from Home!!!!

This Inn is indeed very clean and was a comfortable place for our short trip to OC. However, the Inn is not the advertised 1 1/2 blocks to the beach but more like 2 1/2. Not a huge deal but just funny that they claim it to be shorter. Also, when I booked, I was talked into a bigger room for 140/night that had an "ocean view" as opposed to a smaller room for 115/night. The view was a joke. You could barely see a little speck of ocean from rows of houses in between and amusements way in the distance. We would have never spent the extra money having known that. We thought we were splurging for a great view. Next time we plan to stay somewhere more worth the money with a pool- it was brutally hot!
