Shooting Star Bed and Breakfast, Carnelian Bay

We loved staying here. Bill, the owner, treated us to fabulous breakfasts that sustained us through our hikes and suggested great dining places nearby. The b & b is fabulous and we enjoyed the Aspen room! Believe the reviews.

My boyfriend and I made our first (but definitely not last!) visit to Lake Tahoe and stayed at the Shooting Star B&B. It was absolutely perfect! The room and the rest of the house was well-decorated and well-appointed with several fireplaces throughout, a jetted bathtub in the room and warm little touches such as a personalized welcome sign hung on the room door and a stereo lightly playing nature sounds in the room upon our arrival. The Shooting Star B&B offers numerous magazines and books to read and boardgames to play at one's leisure, as well as candles and a lighter in the room for more romantic moments and (my personal favorite) a bathroom filled with travel-sized Aveda products and all the soft, fresh, over-sized towels you and your companion could ever need! This level of hospitality and thoughful planning carried right through to the breakfast with our host, Bill (also the sole owner) offering any type of breakfast we desired to be served at any time we selected. I am no easy sell when it comes to meals either, but I must say that Bill presented us with a marvelous fare, including vanilla-flavored pancakes, strawberry-filled crepes, fresh fruit, bacon and sausage, scrambled eggs, and an assortment of teas and fruit juices. To top it all off, Bill also entertained us with lively and interesting conversation and several great recommendations on local sites, areas and restaurants to visit during our stay. Needless to say, I was more than pleased! So it is my suggestion to anyone planning to visit North Lake Tahoe, make a reservation at the Shooting Star B&B. I am sure you will not be disappointed!

This was our first time to the Lake Tahoe area and I wasn't really sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with Shooting Star B&B. The owner was very hospitable and went out of his way to make sure that you had whatever your liked for breakfast. Our room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was nice and big with plenty of amenities. Our view of the lake was superb. Overall, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and would highly recommend Shooting Star.

Just like staying over a friends house. Warm Welcoming, great breakfasts, conversation and comfortable rooms. We will definately return for the 3rd time! If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place!
