This place was comfy and everyone was so welcoming. I felt right at home, the breakfast was delicious and the service was superb. I would recommend it to everyone!
It's also in a great location to head down to DC but still have t quit piece of the suburbs and the prices were very affordable. My stay overall was amazing and I will be going back next year.
Location was the best! Near metro and bus stops. It was easy for me to go to DC and VA from EDEN PARK GUEST HOUSE! Staff were friendly, place was clean. I would recommend especially because of location!!!
This place was conveniant. Nice location. Near metro and bus routes. I came for a business trip. So metro was a must for me. The B&B also had good rates compared to downtown DC. It felt like home as well.
Located in a nice neighborhood and cute shops in Takoma Park. I will come back if I am assigned to DC location again.
We stayed at Eden Park for 4 nights on our recent trip to DC. The location was perfect and the price was right. We had Room 1. Here is the good, the bad, and the just plain ugly.
Location - short, pleasant walk to Metro Station and buses if you don't want to walk
Bed - big and comfy king-size bed
Jacuzzi Tub - very relaxing after a long day of sightseeing
Wireless Internet - convenient and a shared PC available
Owner - very nice
Town - Takoma Park is fabulous! Nice, diverse, safe, lots of cute shops and excellent cafe's, plus a CVS close by
Cleanliness - dirt on the floors, windowsills, bathroom floor, hair on bathroom floor (not ours!), afraid to turn on AC window unit for fear of all the dirt that would fly into the room
Furniture - mismatched and old (not antique) just a mish-mosh of apparent garage sale remnants and broken glass on the picture frame and the mini blinds were broken and dirty
Kitchen/Dining Room - they are directly outside the door of Room 1 so if you aren't a morning person too bad because you will be awakened by smells of cooking and people talking right outside your door
Housekeeping - there isn't any unless you specifically ask for something in person or in a note and leave your room key for the day
ANTS! We told the owner but there were still ants in the bathroom. To be fair, I know how hard it is to keep ants out, but this was gross!
Wasps! Our last night we killed a wasp that was bouncing across the carpet!
Tub - no drainage for the shower, so lots of water sitting around the tub, and mold building up
Parking lot next door - very noisy all day and most of the night
Floor/Door - the room sloped (an old house) and the door had to be literally lifted up to lock it because of the uneven floors
Overall, it was a decent value for being 1/2 mile from a DC Metro Station and in a very safe and quaint neighborhood. Not sure we'd stay there again but if we did we'd definitely choose a different room. The owner was very nice and the breakfasts (we only ate there 2 mornings) were fine.
I LOVED OUR STAY! I live in the Washington DC area but needed a quick weekend getaway from the kids, friend & family. We stayed in Room 2 which is probably one of the most cozy & romantic atmoshpers i've ever expirienced. The staff made us feel very welcome from the moment we stepped in, they genuinely cared and provided for us but were no over intrusive. I fell in love with the homely Takoma Park location and the warmth B&B had alot to do with that, its a local charm & treasure which I highly recomend. I honestly left feeling relaxed and ready to tackle the world all over again lol.
With great appreciation
P.S~ Breakfast was great!
Location is just wonderful. Metro accessible, bus transportation and near restaurents. I came on a business trip and it was easy to get around. Clean B&B and friendly staff. I will come back in the summer.
I came with my husband and had a horrible trip and lost my luggage. We came to visit friends in the neighborhood. The staff were so friendly and helpful in assisting us. The place was clean and i love the Venus Room. The B&B was near the metro and very helpful for my husband and I to get around. Love the Breakfast too!! Continue the good work. I would recommend this place.
The staff was soo friendly. My husband and kids stay their for a week and we completly enjoyed it. We had certain religious beliefs and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms were clean and each uniquein their own way. The breakfast was great and we had a lovely conversation with the other guest.I would defintly recommend the b&b to everybody.
