The Hotel St Nicholas, Cripple Creek

I stay here often in order to work in the area. The owner and staff have always made me feel welcome and at home. The hotel is kept very clean, but maintains an historic character; the rooms are charmingly appointed. The hotel has great views and overlooks the town business district.

I used to live up the hill from the St. Nicholas, and this was my first time back in years. I brought my daughter here since she was born while we were living in Cripple Creek. I was one of the partners that initially bought the building from the hospital district, but one of the partners took the rest of us out of the arrangement. We went through the building the day before closing and a couple of days after closing. In that short time, someone striped a good many of the neat little features that were in the building and trashed the interior. The renovation is really well done. We especially liked the little bar in the boiler room.

Great Hotel...fantastic accomodations, quaint, the deluxe room was the best. This hotel used to be the cripple creek hospital, but the renovation was fantastic. The outside hot tub is fun even in the winter time.
