A Piece of History

We stayed at the Jacob Swartz House in August 08. This amazing place is steeped in history and was a wonderful experience for us! The owner, Virginia, made us feel right at home. The cottage was furnished with antiques yet was most comfortable. Breakfasts were wonderful and we mostly ate outdoors on the patio overlooking the Shenandoah River & watching the hummingbirds and birds flit from feeder to feeder. The peace and serenity of the location was remarkable and truely relaxing. We made days trips to Luray, Edinburg and the New Market Battlefield, as well as the quaint town of New Market. There is plenty to do and see in the area, but it was also restful to spend time on the screen porch overlooking the river. We have already made our reservations for August 09, and can't wait to return!!!
