Rude and a Dump to boot!
By Seth, 9/8/08
The room was absolutely atrocious. There was a giant crack in the wall, the mattress was uncomfortable, the foot board was broken, and the towels and linen had nasty stains on them. The innkeepers did not make us feel at all welcome. The woman running the place didn't even show us to our room, or tell us where they were other than saying it was upstairs. There was no way to lock the bedroom door from the outside, meaning every time we left, anyone could have walked in and stole our belongings. Plus, the deadbolt inside the room was broken so we couldn't lock it from the inside either. We were supposed to get wine and snacks upon arrival. If they were available, we couldn't find them. The innkeeper's dog and bird were very annoying, chirping and barking regularly. For breakfast, the french toast was covered with nuts, despite the fact my mother-in-law, who is deathly allergic to nuts, requesting no nuts in her food. When she told this to the innkeeper, the innkeeper just made a snide comment and stormed off in a huff. Overall this place was not a good time. We had the creeps the entire time we were there. It was impossible to get comfortable. I have never felt so unwelcome at a B&B before. In fact it felt much less like staying at a B&B, and much more like staying at a crazy aunt's house. In summary...unless you enjoy rudeness and dirtiness....do not, and I repeat, DO NOT...visit the Anchor Mill Inn in Augusta, MO!

The bed was good, the breakfast not so good!
By Pam, 12/10/06
The house was very nice, and the bed was comfortable, but the breakfast left alot to be desired. I've stayed at quite a few Bed and Breakfasts, and this was the worst breakfast I've had at a Bed and Breakfast - especially for the price. I won't recommend it to anyone.
